    See details

Rams Head On Stage presents Gerald Albright, a celebrated saxophonist and bassist whose work spans contemporary jazz, R&B, and pop. This show is open to all ages. Raised in Los Angeles, Albright mastered the saxophone early and later added bass to his toolkit after being inspired by Louis Johnson. Shortly after graduating from the University of Redlands, he joined Patrice Rushen’s band and even finished a tour on bass when the original bassist departed. Throughout the 80s he became a sought-after studio and touring player, performing with artists such as Anita Baker, Ray Parker Jr., Atlantic Starr, The Temptations, Maurice White, Les McCann, Teena Marie, the Winans, and Whitney Houston. He launched his solo path with Just Between Us in 1987, helping define the emerging smooth jazz sound and earning radio success, chart placements, and spots on all-star outings like Guitars & Saxes and Groovin’ For Grover. In the late 90s he led a big band while touring with Phil Collins and teamed with Will Downing on the album Pleasures of the Night. His recent discography includes Grammy-nominated releases Pushing the Envelope and Slam Dunk, plus acclaimed collaborations like 24/7 with Norman Brown and the Dave Koz and Friends Summer Horns project featuring Mindi Abair and Richard Elliot. Additional albums include Smooth, Groovology, Kickin’ It Up, and Sax for Stax. Known for commanding both sax and bass, Albright shapes performances that travel through shifting textures, rhythms, harmonies, and moods, inviting listeners into a polished blend of contemporary R&B and urban jazz.

ITZALL Goode and SHC Music Tribe team up to bring Pete Best and Dana Cooper to 49 West Coffeehouse, Winebar, & Gallery for a live performance. Pete Best, a Maryland singer songwriter, blends southern rock grit with country storytelling rooted in everyday life, from family and resilience to turn-it-up bar tunes. He built an early following around Baltimore and Washington before relocating to Nashville, and with his band Peterbuilt has opened for Jack Ingram and Pat Green. His debut album, Built to Last, arrived in 2008, the same year he connected with fans at the CMA festival. Raised in Annapolis, he gravitated to country for its lyric focus and later wrote for Dan Hodges Music from 2011 to 2016. Dana Cooper brings a catalog of more than 30 albums and continues to tour widely. His latest release, The Ghost of Tucumcari, features guest appearances by Lyle Lovett, Hayes Carll, Susan Gibson, Darden Smith, and Shake Russell, and was voted No. 1 in the 2024 Americana Highways poll. Evan Honer

Rams Head on Stage, 33 West St, Annapolis · verified Oct 9
    See details

Evan Honer brings It’s An Even Longer Road Tour to Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis with special guest Zach Seabaugh. This event is open to all ages. Honer’s recent years have been full of momentum, from a move to Nashville and an international tour schedule to building a recording space in his garage and running Cloverdale Records out of his living room, a label featuring 25 artists and more than 100 releases. In 2024 he played nearly 100 shows in support of his second album, Fighting For, while writing the next chapter of his catalog. His rise accelerated when his take on Tyler Childers’ Jersey Giant drew more than 200 million streams, a breakthrough that arrived while he was still finishing college, playing solo gigs at night, and training with a Division 1 swim team. He released his debut, West On I-10, on graduation day and quickly turned into a relentless touring artist. Everything I Wanted, recorded in 18 days at his home studio, brings his indie and alternative pop influences to the front without leaving behind his Americana roots. The album features strings from neighbor Kate Stephenson, horn accents, pedal steel, and contributions from close collaborators. Across it all are intimate songs, vivid storytelling, and an expressive vocal style shaped by an artist learning to appreciate the moment. Career highlights include more than 500 million streams, an RIAA gold certification for Jersey Giant, sold out dates with Wyatt Flores, and continued growth for Cloverdale Records.

It is the first in a planned series of shorter releases that will eventually form a full album, designed to play beautifully from start to finish as well as one song at a time. The EP is available on music platforms worldwide, and a limited run of CDs will be offered at live shows.
