A high-octane double bill brings Reverend Horton Heat and Messer Chups to Hagerstown, pairing psychobilly horsepower with surf-soaked, cult-cinema flair. Guided by guitarist and bandleader Jim Heath, Reverend Horton Heat reshapes the roots of country, blues, and rock into a turbocharged roar with dazzling guitar work, driving rhythms, and a sly lyrical wink. Onstage, Heath and stand-up bassist Jimbo Wallace are known for feverish energy and showmanship, with sets that swing from the spaghetti western sweep of Big Sky to the taut rush of 400 Bucks to the whiplash of Psychobilly Freakout, evoking the grit of classic drive-in rock and roll. Messer Chups blends surf instrumentals with vintage Russian melodies, rare 50s and 60s film samples, crackling historical recordings, and lounge-leaning loops. Live, the trio hits with garage-punk intensity against a video collage of mid-century cult and horror clips that nod to Russ Meyer and Ed Wood and to icons like Vampira and Bela Lugosi. The lineup features Oleg "Guitaracula" on guitar, Svetlana "Zombierella" on bass and vocals, and Signor Mattia on drums, and a steady stream of releases and touring has built a passionate worldwide following.

An open mic and jam night fills The Broad Axe with live collaboration, hosted by house drummer Dave Bernet. Solo singer songwriters, bands, and improvising players can step up and share the stage. A complete backline is in place, with a complete drum kit and a keyboard set up on stage, creating a ready to play setup for performers. Sign ups are offered, followed by an evening of performances and collaborative jams.

Karaoke at The MARQ is hosted on a rotation, with Main Event Karaoke and Clayton taking turns.

At Zach Greenlee’s Fireside Restaurant & Lounge, keyboardist and vocalist Mack Berry showcases impressive technique and genuine feeling. His set spans from classic rock to modern country, featuring favorites associated with The Doors, Johnny Cash, George Strait, and Morgan Wallen. Expect a wide-ranging song list and a personable stage presence that keeps listeners engaged throughout.

Carolyn Wonderland unleashes a vivid mix of original, blues-soaked cosmic soul colored by Tex-Mex rhythms and riff-forward rock and roll, propelled by fluid guitar work, sharp songwriting, and a voice rooted in Texas. A lifelong road warrior who began performing as a teenager, she has collaborated with legends including Townes Van Zandt, Levon Helm, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, Bob Dylan, and John Mayall. Her Alligator Records album Truth Is highlights plainspoken storytelling and resilient hope, pairing sometimes ferocious and sometimes delicate fingerpicking with vocals that carry both power and vulnerability; produced by Dave Alvin, who co-wrote several tracks and appears on some of them, it features her core rhythm team of bassist Naj Conklin and drummer Giovanni “Nooch” Carnuccio along with guest contributions from Marcia Ball, Shelley King, Ruthie Foster, Cindy Cashdollar, Red Young, Bukka Allen, Kevin Lance, Henri Herbert, and Stuart Sullivan. Onstage, that fearless spirit fuels a set of hard-grooving, emotionally charged songs that speak plainly and leave a lasting mark.

Part of the Garden Nights series at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, this program features a return appearance by the Silver Tones Swing Band with the Silver Belles vocal trio. Set in the Kaylor Rose Garden, it offers live swing in a relaxed outdoor setting, and the museum galleries remain open. This is a free community event, and attendees are welcome to bring a picnic, a blanket, or a chair.

University Plaza sets the stage for Music in the Plaza with The Cruisers, presented alongside Thunder in the Square, the classic car show hosted by The Alsatia Club. Look for rows of classic cars across downtown Hagerstown and a live set from The Cruisers that creates a welcoming community atmosphere in the center of the city. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

GuruGanesha and the GuruGanesha Band join vocalist and keyboardist Paloma Devi for an intimate kirtan centered on mantra and sacred poetry from many traditions. The program features acoustic and electric guitar from GuruGanesha, participatory call and response chanting, and occasional three part vocal harmonies. The band includes Sat Kartar Singh on rhythm guitar with lead and backing vocals, Mathew Dorko, also known as Gurusangat Singh, on bass with lead and backing vocals, and world music percussionist Tripp Dudley on tabla, drum kit, and cajon. Paloma Devi’s voice puts a feminine devotional presence at the center as the ensemble’s meditative interplay nurtures a healing atmosphere. Guided by a pioneer in devotional music, this gathering offers a heartfelt immersion in bhakti. Advance registration is requested. Admission is $25.

Hangarfest 2026 returns as an annual benefit for Breast Cancer Awareness, Inc., transforming Rider Jet Center into a lively venue for live music by the Jill Fulton Band and The Reagan Years. Expect food trucks, plenty of dancing, and an upbeat hangar vibe. More details will be shared soon.
