Please note that the workshop has been moved to a new date. This outdoor program takes place at the Bottcher's Landing Boat Launch in the Town of Big Flats, with setup in the shaded pavilion. Participants are welcome to bring camping chairs and move around the property while they paint. All materials are provided, including high quality brushes, 140 lb cold press watercolor paper, Winsor & Newton paints, palettes, drawing boards, and rainwater from on site barrels. Consider bringing snacks and a reusable water bottle to reduce plastic waste. For comfort, a lawn chair for painting outside the pavilion, a sun hat or sunglasses, sunscreen, and bug spray are recommended.

Pear and apple cider are pressed on site from blue ribbon pears planted by Jonathan Fisher as early as 1805, apples from the orchard, and donated fruit from around the peninsula. Guided visits through the restored historic orchard share Fisher’s original layout and the effort undertaken twenty years ago to re-establish it using documented apple varieties from his orchard map. This outdoor, family-friendly event is open to the public at no cost, and donations help support the Fisher House.
