Additional pieces beyond the included three can be made for $10 each to cover glaze and firing. Keep nails short for best results, wear clothing that can get messy, and bring an old towel or rag for clay covered hands. Enrollment is limited to five participants and the fee is $59. Pottery Wheel Class

Winthrop · The Art Walk Shop & Studio, 121 Main St

Explore the pottery wheel in a two part class that starts with making your pieces and continues with glazing them later. In the first session, create up to three items such as a cup, bowl, or vase using three balls of clay, each about one and a quarter pounds. Hands on guidance is available as needed, so you can work independently or ask for help for a more refined finish. Pieces are fired after this step. Return about two to three weeks later to glaze your work, which is then fired again for its final finish. Complete glazing and pick up your finished pieces within 30 days, as unclaimed items may be discarded due to limited storage. Keep nails short for the best experience, wear clothing that can get messy, and bring an old towel or rag for wiping clay. Additional pieces beyond the first three can be made for $10 each to cover glazing and firing. Enrollment is limited to five participants. The class fee is $59, and sessions often sell out two to three weeks in advance. When purchasing a spot, do not enter a shipping address.
