This free community yoga session welcomes everyone and accommodates all levels, abilities, and bodies. Participants can look for the purple YOGA flag and meet on the grass between the gazebo and the pavilion. It takes place every Wednesday, weather permitting and dependent on teacher availability.

The Silver Spring, Maryland singer songwriter and internationally touring artist blends influences from his Jewish heritage, transformative experiences with Indigenous communities, and studies of Buddhism to craft songs that feel both personal and universal. He has introduced a three-part project that draws on lessons from his travels and inner exploration, beginning with the optimistic folk-pop EP Present Journey and continuing with forthcoming chapters titled Past Lives and Future Myths. The School Street Coffeehouse is a not for profit music venue within the Saco Biddeford Unitarian Universalist Church that offers a welcoming atmosphere, engages touring performers, and supports local musicians. Lighthouses and Legends offers an evening of coastal views, food and beverages, conversation, and live acoustic music, all in celebration of York Public Library and its community. The gathering marks 25 years in the library’s Long Sands Road building and recognizes what has been accomplished there. Former Major League Baseball player turned artist and bestselling children’s author Micah Johnson appears as the special guest. Tickets are $75 per person and include two drink tickets. Ferry Beach marks 125 years with a festival weekend at Ferry Beach Retreat & Conference Center featuring community gatherings by the ocean. Highlights include a chili and chowder cook-off alongside a festival in the Grove, an anniversary dance party with music and costumes spanning 125 years, a heritage program reflecting on the past, campfire storytelling with singalongs and s’mores, a coffeehouse open mic, time by the beach, and a chapel gathering in the Grove. Day visitors and overnight guests are welcome, with day passes available for locals and on-site lodging offered for travelers. Chef-prepared meals are served each day for all attendees. Oceanside rooms are steps from the shore with direct beach access in the coastal town of Saco, and rates vary by room selection. A commuter option includes the day’s programming plus lunch and dinner for 77 dollars per person. The weekend begins with a welcoming dinner and concludes with a closing circle centered on universal love, and guests may continue to enjoy the campus after room check-out.

Returning to Saco, Maine, Carl Bledsoe brings a three-day horsemanship clinic to Setting Sun Stables as part of his GHNE teaching tour. The program centers on developing smooth, correct gait, building softness and connection, and applying principles that support both the body and mind of the horse. Riders who have trained with Carl before will delve into new techniques with more advanced instruction. Those new to his gentle, horse-first coaching will receive individualized guidance that meets each horse and rider where they are and targets personal goals. After the clinic fills, registered riders may also purchase a one-hour private lesson to consolidate the work from the clinic. The full three-day clinic is $900, and auditing is $40 per day. Carl and Tammy Bledsoe share a path that moved from the show ring to teaching and training with the horse’s well-being at the center, highlighting the versatility and talent of Tennessee Walking Horses and other gaited breeds. Carl has appeared as a guest speaker, clinician, and featured presenter at events such as the Sound Horse Conference, the Equus Film Festival, Equifest, Horse World Expo, the Georgia Horse Fair, the Southern Equine Expo, and Equine Affaire in Ohio and Massachusetts. He has judged the Appalachian Trainer Face-Off, been featured in Horse Illustrated, and received the Humane Society of the United States Humane Horseman of the Year award in 2022 for advocacy of sound, humane training.
