That early training led to appearances with the symphonies in Grand Rapids, Detroit, and Chicago, plus seasonal programs and collaborations with area choirs and ensembles. From 2003 to 2010 he hosted a long-running open mic series at Billy’s Lounge in Grand Rapids, and he has since performed frequently across west Michigan. The performance features familiar melodies presented in surprising ways alongside his original material.

Anna of Moonlit + Windswept leads a hands-on class focused on the Blue Morpho, which is more challenging to pin than many other butterflies and moths, so prior pinning experience is recommended. Participants will practice pinning a butterfly or moth and learn how to mount it in a shadowbox, while also exploring the species’ history and life cycle. The session runs about an hour. Each person takes home a pinned specimen, one shadowbox, a pinning board, a pinning guide, and entomology pins. This class is for ages 12 and up, with younger attendees allowed only if accompanied by an adult or pre-approved by Anna, and pre-approval can be requested at the shop or by emailing moonlitandwindswept@gmail.com. Admission is $111 per person, and cancellations within 72 hours of the start time are nonrefundable. Non-participating spectators are not permitted. The inaugural Stick It to BRCA Teal vs. Pink Community Hockey Game brings players, families, friends, and neighbors together for a family friendly night that supports an important cause. Team Teal and Team Pink meet on the ice to shine a light on BRCA gene mutations and hereditary breast, ovarian, and related cancers. Inspired by Christina Panaggio’s experience with BRCA1 and ovarian cancer, the event channels a difficult diagnosis into action, connection, and hope. Proceeds support the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MIOCA) and Beautiful You by Profile, which offer education, advocacy, resources, and meaningful support for those affected by cancer. Hosted at Walker Ice & Fitness Center in Walker, Michigan. Spectators can cheer for local players, learn about hereditary cancer risk, and be part of a community effort to Stick It to BRCA.
