IOC's 5th Birthday Party!

This celebration marks five years of Inclusive Ottawa County, which began with concerned neighbors gathering at Hagar Park and has grown into an established nonprofit providing free resources with support from neighbors, friends, and family. Hosted as the monthly Food&Fun event, it features food, drinks, and cake, along with games for neighbors to enjoy. A fundraising area will be set up in the former library. Food is free, with a suggested donation of $5 per family. Although the organization may be moving out of the building known as The Village, the community is The Village, and the work continues through free mutual aid events and by uplifting progressive organizations, neighbors, and small businesses. Thank you for the continued support that makes this work possible.

Spring Wildflowers Nature Hike

Explore the burst of spring ephemerals at Hudsonville Nature Center as Michigan’s woods come alive with color. Naturalist Craig Elston leads the walk, sharing insights about the area’s natural features and helping participants learn to identify many species. Look for woodland blooms such as trillium, jack in the pulpit, Dutchman’s breeches, trout lilies, violets, wild ginger, and more. Dress for the weather, since the hike will take place unless conditions become threatening or severe. Long pants and sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended.
