The 15th Annual Senior Community Day, presented by the Senior Marketing Group of West Michigan, welcomes older adults, family members, and caregivers for a free community gathering. Attendees can enjoy complimentary breakfast and lunch, live entertainment, health screenings, and door prizes. The event also features more than 50 vendor booths with activities and resources. It offers a chance to connect with community organizations, discover helpful services, and share time with friends and family in a warm, welcoming setting. Registration is free.

Preschoolers ages 2 to 6 can explore a new nature theme each week through a mix of engaging activities. Each session includes a read-aloud, a short walk or other outdoor exploration, time for open-ended play in nature, and a hands-on craft. Begin at the Visitor Center.

Enjoy a relaxed day at Duck Lake State Park Beach along the Lake Michigan shoreline, connecting with other homeschooling families by the water. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry and can be purchased at the gate, or street parking is available outside the park. If parking inside, use the first lot, then follow the boardwalk trail to reach the beach. Pack a cooler and bring your beach gear. Families can come and go at times that work best for them, and there are additional beach days planned for those who want more time by the lake.

The library's theater space becomes a spot for competitive gaming, offering a range of titles to play on a large screen. Participants can jump into the games they enjoy and compete while everything is showcased up front in a shared setting.

An evening tour offers a chance to experience the Hackley and Hume Historic Site after nightfall, revealing the grounds in a new way. Learn about the local lumber industry, the Hackley and Hume families, and everyday life in Victorian-era Muskegon. Space is limited. Check in at the City Barn, the carriage house behind the site.

This Summer of Color horse show is a collaboration between the Michigan Paint Horse Club and Tri-State Pinto. Competition includes APHA, PtHA, and all breed classes at the Muskegon County Fairgrounds in Muskegon, Michigan. Judging will be conducted by Tim Abler and Stephanie MConnell.

At Muskegon Farmers Market, children ages 3 to 13 can register on-site. Participants receive $5 in tokens per week. Extra activities are planned, so allow additional time to participate.

Super Saturday at the Muskegon Museum of Art, held on the second Saturday of each month, offers complimentary admission to the galleries along with a free STEAM activity for kids. Each installment is inspired by artwork from the museum’s permanent collection or a current exhibition. This edition connects with "HerStory of Animation" and features a Watercolor Ink Blots project. Complimentary access applies to general galleries only and does not include specialty exhibitions.

Now in its eighth year, the Great Lakes Surf Festival takes place at Pere Marquette Beach in Muskegon, Michigan.

Head to The Deck for a day of live music on the beach during DeckFest! There will be multiple guest performers with music running from early afternoon through the evening. All ages are welcome, and it’s a family-friendly atmosphere, including your furry friends. Please note that Pere Marquette is a public beach with paid parking.

This relaxed, play-based session gives children ages 0 to 5 the chance to explore multiple activity stations throughout the library. Activities focus on playing, talking, singing, reading, and writing to support early literacy and help little ones get ready to read. Registration is required.

Food Truck Nights brings a rotating lineup of vendors to the Harmony Lake Apartment Homes parking lot, welcoming residents and the public. Returning favorites include Tasty Variety Special and Tiki Boiz, and new options such as Cousins Maine are part of the mix. Across the series, trucks like Waffle Stix, Big Tucks, Arturos Tacos, DaKidd BBQ, Baby Sugas Cheesesteaks, Greekshore, The Ice Creamwitch, and Pizza Parliament make appearances. Each installment features a different menu, offering fresh flavors in a casual, come-and-go setting.

Learn cookie decorating with Kellie of The Perfect Mix Baking Co. in a beginner friendly class that welcomes kids. Ideal for a warm summer day indoors, this hands-on session focuses on three sweet treat designs and includes all the tools and materials needed. Everyone will create decorated cookies to take home. The fee is $38 per person. Enrollment is limited to 25 participants and is first come, first served, with payment required to secure a spot. Registration is completed through a form, and payment options include Venmo, Square, or in person.

Join a free “Little Learners” Play and Learn program at the Lakeshore Museum Center, designed for Muskegon County infants and toddlers ages 0 to 4. Families will enjoy story time and themed free play activities, along with songs, sensory and motor-skill stations, art, and more. The Water theme means you are welcome to bring bathing suits and water shoes for activities that may get little learners wet, and some time outside may be included if weather permits. Registration is required for everyone attending, including caregivers and siblings, and each session runs about 50 to 60 minutes. Families also receive a free book to take home along with special crafts and activities.

Get started with archery through a beginner lesson on bow and arrow fundamentals. Intended for participants ages 9 and older for safety reasons, the session takes place at the Park Headquarters/Office. Pre-registration is required.

In a playful Prohibition twist where caffeine is outlawed and energy has vanished, the crew sneaks the fun back to the lake with vintage flair and lively on-the-water action.
