Baby Steps to a Native Landscape!
This Earth Day program focuses on practical ways to move toward a native landscape. Discover how small changes to yard care and thoughtful plant selection can support wildlife, help resolve drainage challenges, and save both time and money. Presented by Master Gardener Andrea Walworth of UUCGT and organized by the Sacred Grounds Committee.
Earth Day // Birthday Groundwork Celebration
A relaxed gathering at Taproot Cider House marks Earth Day alongside Groundwork’s birthday. Highlights include the Mother Earth Mojito and the Taproot Hummus bowl. The atmosphere is informal with no scheduled program, offering time for conversation, connection, and a shared toast to the planet.
Seedling Starting Workshop - GLIF Growing Together Series
Part of the GLIF Community Growing Together series, this interactive seed-starting workshop at Great Lakes Incubator Farm offers practical guidance and hands-on practice to start seeds and raise healthy seedlings. Participants learn how to choose seeds, check viability, use techniques that encourage germination, and maintain the right balance of light, temperature, and water for strong growth. The session includes a hands-on planting activity, with seeds to take home for a personal garden. Registration is required and costs $10 per person. Designed for adults.
Great Lakes Incubator Farm- GLIFVillage to Village
Village to Village is a new hospitality series linking the Village at Grand Traverse Commons and the Village of Elk Rapids through a rotating lineup of food, wine, and cocktail experiences. Shaped by Northern Michigan’s quieter season and a deep appreciation for the local service community, it spotlights craft, conversation, and collaboration among Left Foot Charley, Trattoria Stella, Bos Wine, and Ethanology. This occurrence is hosted at Trattoria Stella. Across the series, the rotation places gatherings at Left Foot Charley on Tuesdays, at Trattoria Stella on Wednesdays, at Bos Wine on Saturdays, and at Ethanology on Sundays, with the exception of the final Sunday of each month. Each stop features distinctive drinks and dishes along with guest appearances from partner venues, and additional details about the featured offerings will be shared on social media.
