Berry Picking Basket Workshop #2
Wildflower Cottage hosts an interactive basketry workshop led by Shannon Lucas Westrum, an experienced maker. Participants will build a functional berry basket from the ground up, shaping a round base, setting vertical spokes, securing the weave with cord lashing, and finishing with a cut and riveted leather handle. The finished basket measures roughly 7 inches at the base, 6 1/4 inches across the top, and 5 inches tall, suitable for gathering berries, mushroom hunts, or everyday carry. The fee is $30 per person, lowered by more than 60 percent through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant. Open to ages 14 and older, and good hand dexterity is necessary.
