Pauper Tuesday

This event features rounds of Magic: The Gathering in the Pauper format. Pauper uses 60-card decks with an optional 15-card sideboard, and every card must be a common or have been printed at common rarity at some point in MTG history. Aside from those deck construction rules, gameplay follows the same rules as Standard.

Workshops & Classes

Pour Your Own Epoxy™

At Trove Brewing, take part in a hands-on epoxy woodworking workshop where you will create a custom river-style piece. Choose from options like a charcuterie board, a lazy susan, a clock, a key holder shelf, a set of coasters, or a mini pair. Work with premium black walnut and other quality hardwoods, and select up to two epoxy colors on arrival to personalize your design. After the session, each piece cures for about a week before moving into a detailed finishing process that typically takes 8 to 10 weeks, with timing influenced by class size and shipping. When complete, your project is shipped to you in pristine condition. All ticket sales are final. If you cannot attend, you may send someone in your place. Every participant age 12 or older needs a ticket, and couples tickets allow two people to collaborate on one project.

Health & Wellness

Wild Workouts: Qigong (First Tuesdays: May - September)

Explore gentle qigong practices designed to support wellbeing and reduce stress in a guided class. Through flowing movement, purposeful breathing, and focused attention, participants build energy and encourage healthy circulation. Seated options are available, and no prior experience is required. Open to ages 16 and older. Sessions are planned for the Treetop Trail, with Discovery Bay as the backup location if weather requires a change. Instruction is provided by wellbeing educators from the University of Minnesota’s Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing. The fee is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. The Minnesota Zoo offers reasonable ADA accommodations so everyone can participate, and requests should be made at least two weeks before the planned visit.
