Mayo Clinic Health System Event CenterOpening Reception: Endless Horizons | In Relation | Most, Not All
An opening reception highlights three new exhibitions across the Fireside, Rotunda, and Hope Cook galleries. In the Fireside Gallery, Endless Horizons features the FotoMatter Collective, a Minnesota group of artists and makers working in photography, book arts, and time based media. Grounded in critique and collaboration, the collective supports member practices and has evolved from a critique group into a fully formed organization that welcomes its community and the broader public. The work considers how people relate to the natural world, looking at interconnected ecosystems, human impact, and the ways landscapes hold memory, shape identity, and spark change. In the Rotunda Gallery, In Relation presents abstract paintings by Suyao Tian, created primarily with water based media. Enlarged organic forms become surreal terrains inhabited by unfamiliar presences from an imagined world. Drawing on nature, memory, and the subconscious, these elements turn into visual symbols that explore links among living forms and reflect humanity’s place alongside animals and plants, as well as life that could be uncovered through advancing technology and space exploration. The paintings welcome many interpretations within a calm, open, and poetic space. In the Hope Cook Gallery, Most, Not All showcases work by Joel Hansen.

2nd Annual Second Chance Prom
The 2nd Annual Second Chance Prom returns with the whimsy dialed all the way up. Building on an unforgettable first year, this celebration leans into bigger, stranger, and more enchanting vibes. The theme is Down the Rabbit Hole, calling for Wonderland glamour and enchanted chaos, where forest-creature finery, vintage prom flair, and tea party touches are right at home. Think sparkles, velvet, clocks, mushrooms, and crowns, with over-the-top fabulousness encouraged. Friendly competition adds extra sparkle with awards for Best Dressed in classic prom style, Best Theme-Inspired Look, and a Crowd Favorite. Music comes courtesy of Good Vibrations DJ Service, complete with a photo booth, and the festivities unfold in the stylish atmosphere of Sky One Eleven. Expect a Prom Royalty fundraising competition, adoptable pet meet and greets, a silent auction, raffle prizes, dancing, community, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres. At its heart, this is a benefit for Mending Spirits Animal Rescue. Proceeds help cover veterinary care, emergency treatment, food and supplies, transportation, foster support, and the new beginnings animals deserve. Every ticket, raffle entry, and auction bid fuels lifesaving work throughout the year. This is not a typical high school dance. It is a redemption prom that celebrates the wonderfully weird, where sequins and even a pair of antlers fit right in, and where looks ranging from Wonderland royalty and spooky cottagecore nobility to glitter goblin finery or classic prom elegance are welcomed.
