Hosted at Burnsville High School, this badminton tournament welcomes players across divisions and ages, with a format designed to maximize match play. Competition includes men’s and women’s singles and doubles, mixed doubles, senior men’s doubles for ages 45 and up, senior mixed doubles with a minimum age of 45 for men and 35 for women, and recreational singles and doubles for participants 16 and under who have not competed in an Adults Open. Recreational matches are played as a single game to 31 points. Entry fees are set at $50 for one event and $75 for two, with an additional $10 for each extra event. High school students can register at a flat rate of $30 by listing their high school in the Club section. All pricing and event information may change. Registration closes by a stated deadline, with an earlier cutoff for anyone ordering a tournament t-shirt. Draws use a drop-flight structure so players continue competing after an early loss. A first-match loss moves a player to C. Winning the opener but falling in the second shifts to B. Winning twice before a third-match loss routes to A Consolation round one, and a quarterfinal loss routes to A Consolation round two. The organizer may remove the consolation bracket if needed. Brackets may be canceled if fewer than eight entries are received. Men’s singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles accept up to 64 entries, while all other events are capped at 32. Intentional losing is prohibited. Suspected sandbagging can result in disqualification. Report any concerns to the organizer. Players may continue after a warning if they compete at their true level, but repeated violations can lead to removal from the tournament and entry fees will not be refunded. Skill ratings are used to place competitors. A+ indicates professional experience such as national representation or holding a BWF profile. A, B, C, and D correspond to prior finishes in those respective brackets. Payments are accepted via PayPal using the friends and family option to avoid processing fees, and any fees from the seller option may be collected at check-in. Withdrawal refunds are considered individually.

Take part in casual matches of the One Piece Card Game. If you do not have a constructed deck, starter decks will be available to borrow so you can jump right in.

New and returning players can learn how to play One Piece and practice in a welcoming setting. Starter decks will be available to try before buying, and in-stock options can be taken home to customize. All experience levels are welcome.

Fellow makers meet at Edina Library for a September craft session. Bring a project of your own and spend time creating and chatting with other crafters. The meetup is limited to adults. Face masks are mandatory, and medical-grade options are encouraged for the well-being of all, with spares available if needed. Any type of project is welcome, whether fine art, something functional, or a just-for-fun idea. Please be considerate of the library meeting rooms and the shared environment while you work. The goal is simple... make something and enjoy yourself.

Enjoy a board game night at the Richfield Community Center featuring Games by James and Air Traffic, who will bring recent releases and modern classics to play. Recreation staff will be available to teach rules and answer questions. This is an opportunity to connect with other community members over tabletop games. Ages 10 and up are welcome, and anyone under 16 must attend with an adult. Admission is free.
