Jimmy Fortune brings a career-spanning performance from a life in country and gospel music. He spent 21 years with the Statler Brothers after first stepping in for Lew DeWitt in 1982, a role that began when DeWitt heard him sing at a ski resort and led to an audition in Nashville. His time with the group earned inductions into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame and the Country Music Association Hall of Fame, and he was later recognized in the Virginia Musical Hall of Fame as a solo artist. After the Statler Brothers retired, he launched a solo path and released projects including When One Door Closes, I Believe, Feels Like Christmas, a live concert DVD, Windows, Lessons, and the Gaither Music Group releases Hits and Hymns and Jimmy Fortune Sings The Classics, with Hits and Hymns reaching high marks across several Billboard charts. He continues to write, tour, and record in Nashville.

Step-by-step guidance supports beginners, and everyone takes home a framed, finished artwork to display or gift. The workshop fee is $55 and includes all instruction and supplies. SMAC members receive a $5 discount on ticketed classes. Thanks to a grant from the Hollister Parks & Recreation Department, Hollister residents are eligible for 50% off ticketed classes and must provide a full residential address and enter a Hollister zip code at checkout to claim the discount.
