Montana’s Got Talent 2026

Montana’s Got Talent 2026 brings performers from across the state to a big stage in the Whitefish and Kalispell area for a showcase that spotlights homegrown talent. Artists perform for a chance at up to $5,000 in cash prizes along with opportunities that include an opening slot for a national touring act at Abayance Bay, a new demo session at Beargrass Studios, entry into the Whitefish Songwriter Festival, and more. Previous finalists have signed record deals, achieved strong streaming numbers, and each has opened for national touring artists in their genre. While prizes are part of the evening, the focus is on celebrating the creativity and dedication of Montana’s artists and the communities that support them. PechaKucha Kalispell: Creative Placemaking

PechaKucha Kalispell comes to the Wachholz College Center with a focus on Creative Placemaking. Speakers deliver concise, high-energy talks in the 20 x 20 format, with 20 slides advancing every 20 seconds, sharing the motivations behind shaping imaginative places where people gather, dance, celebrate, reflect, and find inspiration. Volume 12 takes place in McClaren Hall and explores community and creativity through the perspectives of entrepreneurs, restaurant owners, tastemakers, event hosts, publishers, and others. This event is free and open to the public. Originating in Japan in 2003 from a group of architects, PechaKucha uses an automatically advancing slide format that keeps presentations brisk and focused. The name translates to chit chat in Japanese, there are more than 1,200 chapters worldwide, and the Kalispell chapter began in 2017.

This paint out takes place in Bonners Ferry, a small mountain town bordered by the Selkirk Mountains and divided by the Kootenai River. Coffee and dining spots sit within a short walk of the casino through a pedestrian tunnel, and the area offers river views and a walking bridge. The setting is described as comfortable for evening walks. The Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge serves as the main hub for painting. Restrooms and water are available at the entrance. Ongoing restoration of the original wetlands may limit driving on the auto tour road, yet there is still ample scenery to capture. An optional scouting drive takes in the refuge loop and a nearby waterfall, with the possibility of visiting additional falls if there is interest. Participants gather in the parking lot in front of Kootenai River Inn Casino & Spa. North-facing rooms offer river views and balconies that can double as painting spots, and the on-site restaurant overlooking the water is used as a meeting point. A nocturne in the old downtown invites urban painting, reachable via the tunnel near the casino entrance. Open painting continues with help available for directions and suggestions. Concealed Defensive Pistol - June 6th

Strengthen safe weapon handling and practical self-defense skills for both home and public settings in this intermediate concealed-carry pistol class. Built for covert carry, the training focuses on performing under pressure, with work that sharpens speed, accuracy, movement, and real-time problem solving. Participants are expected to already handle firearms safely and have a solid grasp of pistol fundamentals. The class is held at a private outdoor range in Somers, Montana, with specific directions shared one week before the session. Upon completion, participants receive a Montana Weapons Training Certificate from a state-certified firearms instructor, which meets the requirements for a Montana Concealed Weapons Permit. Plan to bring a semi-automatic pistol with three magazines, 200 rounds of ammunition, and an inside-the-waistband holster that is not leather or nylon. Advanced Concealed Pistol - June 20th

Held in Somers, Montana, this advanced concealed carry course is intended for students who already handle firearms safely and are comfortable drawing from concealment. Participants should be able to draw and place a round in the A zone at 5 yards within 2 seconds. The range address and directions will be sent in advance. Training focuses on refining the draw and presentation for efficient movement, working retention shooting in close quarters, using unorthodox shooting positions, making the most of real-world cover including vehicles, and clearing malfunctions. Some work will be done on the ground, though there is no need to transition rapidly into those positions. Students should bring a semi-auto pistol, an inside-the-waistband holster made of kydex or plastic, 250 rounds of pistol ammunition, a sturdy belt, at least one spare magazine with a way to carry it, eye and ear protection, and range clothing that can get dirty. Wear attire similar to everyday carry. A hat is recommended. Plan to bring lunch, snacks, and plenty of water, and a lawn chair if available.
