  An RC gathering at Riverbend Foundation in the Uwharrie National Forest near Troy, North Carolina brings a full weekend of trail time, courses, and friendly competition. It is not a formal comp, yet there are plenty of optional challenges. The terrain offers notable elevation changes, rocky sections, and a large creek, and a crawler course will be set up for any 1/10 style crawler to run freely throughout the weekend. Primitive camping is permitted, with bathrooms and a bath house available on site. Weekend admission is $40 per person and includes camping, single‑day entry is $30, and both spectators and kids 12 and under can attend at no cost. Show and Shine will highlight builds across many categories, including overall favorites, standout paint and weathering, detailed engine bays and interiors, creative scale accessories, 1/24 and 1/18 entries, monster and pulling trucks, rally cars, and Squatch‑themed touches. A 1/24 to 1/18 competition will run under rules provided by the organizers. Team challenges pair two people and a crawler for a series of tasks where the quickest combined effort comes out on top. The rock bouncer hill climb welcomes platforms such as Ryft, Wraith, Capra, Optic, Bomber, Gilamon, Twin Hammers, Yeti, and custom or plastic full‑cage rigs without chassis rails, while SMT and Mega platforms are excluded. Rigs must use shaft‑driven axles, independent front suspension is allowed, MOA is not, and axle housings should be appropriate for 1/10 rigs. Suspension is open, tire choice is open, wheels are limited to a maximum of 2.2, rear steer is permitted, batteries are limited to 3S, electronics are open, and overall length cannot exceed 21.5 and must fit the event jig. Monster truck racing features 1/10 LMT, SMT, or drop‑cradle straight‑axle rigs in a bracketed one‑versus‑one, down‑and‑back format with jumps, decided by best of three. Battery limit is 3S with electronics open, and V‑tread monster tires are required. A Grom or Stampede class may be added if enough entries appear. Sled pulling will operate with open classes according to what participants bring. Rally racing spans multiple stages with rankings based on total time. Only true 1/10 rally cars may run, excluding certain models, with a 2S battery limit and electronics otherwise open. Cars must display a rally door number, include at least a half interior rather than a flat panel, retain stock suspension geometry, and use unmodified Tamiya block‑style rally tires. Additional activities include an RC barrel course where each driver gets three attempts with the fastest run counting, open to any 1/10 vehicle. The Cash Crawl Shootout has a $10 entry, a 60/30/10 payout split, and a run‑what‑you‑brung 1/10 format over ten gates, with timing used to break ties. Winching is not allowed, no hand‑of‑god recoveries are permitted, and a rollover that does not land back on the tires ends the run. Bear Rock Raceway focuses on 1/18 1RC cars and may feature organized sessions or full races, with details subject to available timing systems. A limited number of loaner cars may be offered as resources allow, and entries could range from 1/24 to 1/16. All activities and details are subject to change.

  Oakboro Cruise-in and Showcase of Power

  The Oakboro Cruise-in returns alongside the Showcase of Power, a crowd favorite at this long-running Southeast tradition. The Showcase of Power is open to cars and trucks only, with no motorcycles, ATVs, or side-by-sides allowed. During each run, once a vehicle breaks traction it should remain nearly stationary. If forward motion begins, the driver must either stop moving or stop the spin. Drivers who wish to make another attempt will have their tires inspected for rocks and debris, a safety step emphasized after a near miss last year. Spectators must stay behind the yellow caution tape and should not watch from behind the barricades at the end of the concrete pad.
