Pokémon fans can look forward to a weekly League Night centered on friendly battles, trading, and a welcoming community. New and experienced Trainers alike can join organized league matches for bragging rights and prizes or opt for casual games that suit any skill level. A trading area makes it easy to connect with fellow players and make exchanges that enhance any collection. Special league challenges provide in-game rewards and bonuses. All ages are welcome. Participants can bring cards and consoles. Entry fees vary by prizing and event type, and prizes may be awarded as store credit or Pokémon products depending on availability.

A month-long catfish tournament at River Park North features competition for anglers of all ages. Participation is open to anyone with a state fishing license and a park fishing permit, except that children 15 and under do not need a license or permit. Entries are judged by the heaviest single catfish, with standings for the top two in the adult division (16 and up) and the top two in the children’s division (15 and under). All ages may take part with an adult. Contest rules include a two-time champion policy, where any RPN Annual Catfish Contest participant who earns first place two years in a row must sit out for one year before participating again. Learn how to pursue one of North Carolina’s largest and best-tasting fish in a workshop focused on catfishing in the state’s coastal rivers and reservoirs. Instruction includes identifying catfish species, choosing and setting up the right tackle and rigs, selecting effective baits, and locating fish in both rivers and lakes. The class is led by an Angler Engagement Coordinator with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. This program is free and suitable for participants ages 12 and older when accompanied by an adult. At the Greenville Convention Center, the Mid-Atlantic Reptile Expo brings together reptile and amphibian fans for a lively mix of shopping and learning. Explore more than 100 tables featuring reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, husbandry supplies, and reptile-themed merchandise. Talk with experienced hobbyists and breeders, compare species from snakes and lizards to frogs and spiders, and connect with others who share an interest in exotics. Admission is $10 for adults, and children 12 and under are admitted free.
