This casual Pokémon League offers a warm, inclusive setting for players of all ages and experience levels. Attendees can learn the rules, refine decks, trade cards, and enjoy friendly, low pressure games. Prize packs may be given out in a variety of ways that recognize learning, good sportsmanship, and active participation. Trading and deck guidance are welcome, helping newcomers and veterans alike. For fairness and a positive experience, store staff must review any trade that involves a child before it is completed, so speak with a staff member prior to finalizing a trade. Experience peak gladiolus season at a pick-your-own flower event spread across a two-acre field. Gladiolus are in full bloom, with sunflowers, zinnias, and other varieties available to cut. Riftbound Summoner Skirmish June

Players receive a booster pack with entry, and an additional booster is added to a prize pool paid out to the top four. A participation promo is available while supplies last. The top eight earn a special top cut promo. The winner claims a champion playmat and a first round bye to a regional qualifier. Grand Re-Opening/ 50- Year Celebration!

B&J marks its grand re-opening and 50 years of service with a family friendly celebration featuring food trucks such as ITEM 9 Pizza, Pelicans SnoBalls, Everythang Bussin, and Dogwood Coffee Roasters. Children can enjoy a bounce house and face painting. Attendees can visit an Ask a Pro tent to get guidance on plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical questions from on-site managers and technicians, and they can book a complimentary home visit. Booktopia, A Silent Reading Afternoon with Cats

Unwind in the cat lounge with an afternoon designed for calm and focus. It starts with time to play with the cats, then transitions to a silent reading session. This happens every third Sunday of the month. Admission is $10 per person and it is open to ages 16 and up. Space is limited, so reserve a spot by texting 252-315-4044. In the Main Library Assembly Room, this all-ages craft session honors America 250 with a simple hanging flag project. 2026 Gig in the Park - Band of Oz

The Gig in the Park concert series brings free live music to Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park, presented by Wilson Downtown Development and the park. The series is a fundraiser benefiting the two nonprofit hosts and is made possible by the Presenting Sponsor, Wilson County Tourism Development Authority, the Series Experience Sponsor, Wilson Energy, and additional Concert, Community, and Friend of Downtown sponsors. ASL interpreters will be available. This concert spotlights the Band of Oz, sponsored by the Wilson Warbirds. Expect a lively blend of beach, soul, funk, pop, rock, country, and top 40, plus a wide variety of eats from Everette's Concessions, Jett's Curbside Cravings, SaYum Jamaican Food Truck, Taste of Texas, The Rock Food Truck, The Scoop Truck, Whirligig Popcorn Shoppe, and Z Halal Grill. Adult beverages are served by The Hub of Wilson and Ruckus & Redemption, and fun for kids is provided by the Imagination Station Science & History Museum. The atmosphere is family friendly. Formed in 1967 and touring full time since 1977, the Band of Oz has built a strong reputation across the Southeast, appearing at clubs, corporate events, festivals, and major beach concerts in the Carolinas, Virginia, and Georgia. Summertime WhiriDog's Jigsaw Puzzle Contest

Test your jigsaw skills at a friendly fundraiser for WhirliDogs Café & Training Center. Teams of four race to finish a 300 piece puzzle, with room for only eight teams in total. The entry fee is $25 per team, and proceeds support day to day operations that provide inclusive employment and training opportunities in the community. The winning team earns WhirliDogs gift cards worth $10 for each member. The kitchen will be open for dinner, and orders can also be called in at 252-595-5588. Because the venue is within the social district, adult beverages purchased elsewhere are welcome. Registration closes once all team spots are taken.

Warbirds Family Film Series - Wild Robot

Wilson Ballpark hosts a free, family-friendly screening as part of the Warbirds film series, presented by Wilson County Tourism with support from Downtown Wilson, the Whirligig Park, Imagination Station, and Wilson Arts. Voted the Wilson Times number one band in 2023, 2024, and 2025, they blend current rock, country, and pop covers with their own originals. Karaoke Vibes returns to Downtown Wilson with a high energy night at Larema Coffee House. Expect plenty of singalong moments, laughter, and friendly competition. Traditional karaoke runs throughout the event, and a special Karaoke Battles game adds a competitive twist. A familiar song appears on the big screen, up to 20 participants join using their phones, and the system scores performances for hitting the right notes and singing the correct words. While waiting for a turn at the mic, nostalgic games offer something fun for family and friends to enjoy together. Admission is free.

Modified Mafia Tour

This event presents a full slate of racing headlined by the Modified Mafia Tour, noted at $3,000, with additional divisions including Rookie 4, Sport Compact, Pure Stock Four Cylinder, Thunder V-8, and Super Stock Four Cylinder. Pit entry and driver registration cost $35 for ages 11 and up and $10 for ages 10 and under. Grandstand admission is $20 for ages 16 and older, $5 for ages 11 to 15, and free for ages 10 and under. The program progresses from a drivers meeting into practice, qualifying and heat races, pauses for an intermission featuring Kids JuiceBox, and finishes with the feature events.

Riftbound Unleashed July Summoner Skirmish

Hosted at DreamDaze Comics Fun & Games, this Sealed Swiss Summoner Skirmish for Riftbound: League of Legends offers an accessible entry into competitive play, giving players a friendly setting to test skills and showcase deckbuilding. The entry fee is $15. The event uses best-of-three Swiss rounds, with three rounds planned and additional rounds added as needed until only one competitor remains undefeated. Every participant receives one June/July Summoner Skirmish promo card and two Riftbound Nexus Night packs. Prize support includes an exclusive Riftbound champion playmat and a first round bye at Regional Qualifiers for the top finisher. Each of the top eight players earns a special Top 8 promotional card. Extra booster packs are added to the prize pool based on attendance, with two packs contributed per entrant. To be eligible for prizes, players must still be active in the event and present when it concludes. A paid pre-registration with DreamDazeCFG is required, and players must also register on the Riftbound Play Network. Play Network registration is mandatory but does not by itself guarantee a seat. Parents and kids team up to build a sculpture in a welcoming, family friendly art session led by a professional artist. All materials are provided, and each participant receives one drink with the ticket. Adults 18 and older and children ages 7 to 17 may participate. Children ages 7 to 11 must attend with one adult per child. All children must remain with their participating parent or caregiver throughout the session, and observers who are not taking part are not permitted. This is a shared space and does not provide individualized behavioral or personal care support. This free, interactive Preschool Science Says session for children ages 3 to 5 blends open-ended science activities with children’s books, supporting early growth in science and literacy through hands-on learning and stories.
