She has undergone a total hysterectomy and chemotherapy, and continues daily targeted therapy while managing severe pain, nausea, fatigue, and other complications. Through it all, Jessica is focused on her children and her faith. Her husband, Dane, has been by her side for appointments and treatments, frequently missing work to care for their family. The household is navigating growing medical bills, higher medication costs, frequent trips to specialists, and unexpected emergencies involving their daughter and family dog. Proceeds from the tournament will help with medical expenses, travel, medications, and lost income, giving the family more space to concentrate on Jessica’s health and time together. Registration, sponsorships, and donations all make a real impact, and those who cannot take part in the tournament can still contribute through a donation option.

Featuring photographs, sculpture and assemblage, conceptual works, prints, and installations, the exhibition draws on decades of inquiry across science, philosophy, ecology, and visual culture. Interests including quantum physics, the fourth dimension, Zen thought, pataphysics, art theory, and the evolving relationship between nature and the human-shaped environment inform works that challenge habitual ways of seeing and bring attention to the unseen structures that shape experience. This survey highlights connections between the physical and the metaphysical, the visible and the invisible, and the cyclical and the transformative. This paddle covers about 2.5 miles on the Tar River, traveling downstream from River Park North to Wildwood Park. Participants meet at the Wildwood Park Welcome Center, then are transported to the launch at River Park North and float back to their vehicles at Wildwood. Bring a water bottle and wear clothing suitable for getting a little wet. Sit-on-top kayaks are available in limited numbers. The trip may be canceled on short notice if weather or river conditions require it. Pets are not permitted. Capacity is 12 participants. Children under 12 may take part only when paired with an adult in a tandem, and tandem registrations should be made in groups of two. She founded Emerge Gallery in Greenville while a ceramics graduate student at ECU, later guiding the organization to become the designated Local Arts Agency partner of the North Carolina Arts Council. For more than 25 years she has supported the arts community in Pitt County and contributed to the renewal of Downtown Greenville. Her background includes a B.S. in Art from James Madison University with studies in printmaking and ceramics, along with a B.F.A. and M.F.A. in ceramics from East Carolina University. Selected works will be presented in an exhibition with an opening reception. Submissions are accepted through the CaFÉ platform, and acceptance notifications are sent by email. Cash awards include Best of Show at $1,000, Best of 2D at $500, Best of 3D at $500, and three Honorable Mentions at $100 each.

Caroline Keller began her career in country gospel at sixteen, recorded three albums, and earned four top ten placements on the country gospel charts before teaming with John Christenbury and Clint Presley to form the band. They have made regular appearances at the Bluebird Cafe’s Sunday night writer sessions since an invitation in 2016 and have received honors including the Don Gibson Singer Songwriter Symposium award for the song The Way It Goes, Best Americana Band at the Carolina Music Awards, and Queen City Country Female Artist of the Year. Teeny Tiny Turtles on the Tar returns with a goal of finding homes for 2,000 turtles. Adoptions are available online, and each turtle sold helps carry out a mission that serves more than 1,800 youth in the Twin Counties. After all adoptions are claimed, the rubber turtles are released from the Peachtree Street Bridge on the Rocky Mount Mills campus for a race to the finish, and no turtles are harmed during the event. The 18th Annual Race For The Kids presents a full card of racing with the Fast 5 Late Model Challenge offering $5,000 to win and the Modified Mafia Tour also paying $5,000 to the winner, along with Sport Compact Ucar, Rookie 4, and Kids Juice Box Karts. Pit admission is $45 for ages 11 and up and $10 for ages 10 and under, while grandstand admission is $25 for ages 16 and up, $5 for ages 11 to 15, and free for children 10 and under. The schedule moves from a driver’s meeting and the close of registration into a slow roll in, then practice, qualifying, and heat races. Intermission features Kids JuiceBox, followed by the feature events.

A one day ranch horse show highlights the versatility of the ranch horse under ARHA rules and patterns. Classes include Ranch Cutting, Boxing, Ranch Roping, Conformation, Horsemanship, Ranch Rail, Ranchmanship, and Trail, plus a Jackpot Reining class with a 70 percent payout. Divisions are offered for Open, Amateur, Novice, Youth, and Walk/Trot. High Point Division awards are presented at each show, and a Series High Point will be awarded at the end of the season.
