Rock the Park - The Legacy Motown Revue

Presented by the Town of Mooresville Arts & Events team, the 2026 Rock the Park Summer Concert Series brings The Legacy Motown Revue to Liberty Park. This show honors the classic Motown and soul sound with crisp choreography and a vibrant six-piece horn section for an energetic, polished performance. The set draws from favorites by The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Drifters, The Jacksons, and Earth, Wind & Fire. On site, Rock the Park offers local breweries, food trucks, and other vendors. Seating is general admission and based on arrival order. You may bring your own food and nonalcoholic beverages, although outside alcohol is not allowed. Small coolers are permitted and may be inspected.

Piedmont Wrestling Club launches its first live show with a nod to classic, family friendly pro wrestling at the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson, North Carolina. Guided by the “Return to Tradition” philosophy, the lineup highlights clear weight classes, straightforward in ring competition, and time honored grudges. The main event decides the Heavyweight Wrestling Championship as the enigmatic Piedmont Grappler faces veteran Cam Jackson, with the winner claiming the promotion’s top prize, The Big Antique. The Tag Team Championship is also on the line when The Allen Brothers meet Justin Kindred-Allen and Grant “The Pistol” Kistel. Rounding out the card are Christopher Prince vs. General Pickle, “Big Dog” Cam Brown vs. J.O. Sloan, Jonny Baker vs. Adam Davis, and Pretty Boy Bailey vs. Will Maguire. Front row seating is $20, general admission is $10, and children under 5 are free. This debut sets the stage for new champions, introduces the core roster, and ignites the rivalries that will shape wrestling across the Piedmont.

Throughout the week, participants take part in classroom sessions, pool practice, and open water dives to complete the PADI Open Water Diver course and earn certification. Malone’s four-decade career spans folk, roots rock, Americana, and country blues, grounded in independence and a craft that blends grit with vulnerability. A mainstay of Georgia music, she has connections to the Indigo Girls, has performed as part of the Kristian Bush Band, appeared with the Atlanta Symphony alongside Gregg Allman and Chuck Leavell, and has toured with both ZZ Top and Ellen DeGeneres. Her live shows are known for high energy, authenticity, and a soulful spark that fills the room. Her latest album, Southern Comfort, leans into guitar-forward Southern rock, includes co-writing with Dean Dillon, and features guests Buddy Miller, Rick Richards, Will Kimbrough, Charlie Starr, Paul Jackson, and Randall Bramblett. Mooresville High School Band Mattress Fundraiser

The Mooresville High School Band Mattress Fundraiser marks its 14th annual sale in the Magnolia Gym at Mooresville High School. Over the past 13 years, the event has generated $96,930 in support of the program. The gym becomes a hands-on showroom with more than 30 mattresses to try, and a helpful team is available to answer questions and guide shoppers toward the right fit. Shoppers will find name brands such as Purple, Helix, Simmons, Beautyrest and Tranquility Sleep Systems. Prices begin at $169 with a coupon and increase in $50 to $100 steps, offering options from budget to mid range to premium. Each mattress is ordered new in the selected size, and the band is paid for every item sold. Home delivery and old mattress removal are available, typically 2 to 4 weeks from the order date. Free pickup from the Charlotte warehouse is usually ready in 2 to 3 weeks. No money down financing is available with approved credit. Adjustable power bases, box springs, pillows, protectors and metal frames can be added with a mattress purchase. A full range of sizes, styles and comfort levels is offered, and all mattresses include full replacement warranties, with most lasting 10 years. Purchases support Mooresville High School band students.

The Ahlara Sisterhood is a monthly circle for women centered on healing, connection, and shared sisterhood. It offers a welcoming setting for reflection, shared learning, and mutual support in healing. Each meeting includes intentional time for meaningful connection and quiet contemplation, and some gatherings welcome guest contributors who share insight and inspiration. The purpose is to deepen connection with oneself, with one another, and with the shared path of healing. Attendance is by donation, and the monthly contributions are directed to a local charity, extending the circle of care into the community. The circle is facilitated by Alissa Thurston and Lori Petty.
