Creative Quills - A Writer's Workshop

Creative Quills is a free creative writing workshop hosted by Fred & June’s Books in Denver. It invites writers to loosen up, try new approaches, and move past blocks through playful exercises and open conversation about the craft. Formal rules take a back seat and perfect grammar is not the focus, which encourages fresh ideas and experimentation. The gathering is not a manuscript critique, though participants may discuss the publishing process and share updates on works in progress. Adults meet for a two hour session, and a dedicated one hour option is available for juniors.

A kids pickleball clinic for ages 9 and up introduces young players to the fundamentals in a positive, encouraging setting. Held in Rhythm; A Somatic Sound Experience with Heidi Kemler

In Held in Rhythm, Heidi Kemler leads a somatic sound session focused on nervous system balance, deep inner rest, and natural release. Cost is $15. A steady, low-frequency hand drum provides an anchor for internal stability while crystal singing bowls add sustained tones that invite the body to settle, ease effort, and open to calmer states. Nothing needs to be figured out or accomplished. The consistent soundscape offers a place to rest, allowing the system to quiet, everyday strain to soften, and the body to shift from bracing to simple rest. This is not a performance or an intense experience. It centers on creating conditions in which your system can reorganize on its own. Many notice a clear drop into deeper relaxation, as if something finally had permission to let go. Participants leave with relaxation that feels steady and real, grounded, clear, and supported from within.

Group Biofield Sound Healing with Michelle Love

A group Biofield Tuning session and sound immersion led by Master Biofield Tuning Practitioner Michelle Love invites relaxation and a reset of the nervous system. Using tuning forks within the body’s electromagnetic field, the session seeks out areas of stuck energy and guides them toward the central channel for transformation. The approach addresses energetic patterns shaped by thoughts, perceptions, and significant life experiences, including ancestral influences. Many physical, mental, and emotional challenges are framed as noise in the energy field, and this body-tuning is intended to shift that energy from chaos to calm, often leaving participants with renewed vitality and a deeper sense of alignment. Participants may sit or lie down during the session. Please arrive well hydrated, wear comfortable clothing, and bring water, a mat or blanket, and any additional props that support comfort. Cost is $33.

The Journey Within: A Personal Sound Experience in a Shared Space with Heidi

A personal sound journey unfolds in a shared setting, allowing your own inner process to lead the way. Rather than guiding everyone toward the same visualization or feeling, this experience creates room for whatever you bring in body, mind, heart, and inner life. The grounding pulse of a shamanic drum, the delicate tones of chimes, and the enveloping resonance of crystal singing bowls serve as companions, helping the body soften and the mind grow quiet. You might find your breath deepening and notice sensations such as warmth, tingling, lightness, heaviness, gentle movement, or the easing of physical tension. As thoughts slow, a spacious or dreamlike state can emerge. Memories or imagery may arise, clarity may surface, and emotions might move through as tears, laughter, tenderness, relief, or peace. Some people experience deep rest, some gain insight, and others notice effects later. There is nothing you must feel and no destination you need to reach. You are welcome to sit or lie down during the session. For comfort, consider bringing a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, and water, and wear clothing that helps you relax. Cost is $15.
