Band of Oz, regarded as one of the Southeast’s most successful groups and regularly praised by leaders in the entertainment industry, takes the stage on Raiford Street in Downtown Selma as part of the Rockin’ On Raiford Concert Series. Bring a chair for seating, and note that coolers are not permitted. Downtown Selma is a social district, so attendees can grab a cup from The Alley, Quantum Toad, or The Vault, fill it with a preferred adult beverage, and enjoy the music. Food will be available from a food truck, and Hahvad Yahd Cafe inside the Southern Bostonian will also be open. The concert series is supported by a grant from the Johnston County Visitors Bureau. Springfield Eats takes place at the historic Springfield School with a menu featuring fish and chicken plates for $12, ribs for $15, and pork belly for $18. Two-meat combos are available for $18, or $22 when one selection is pork belly, and dessert is $4. Each plate includes baked beans, a roll, a drink, and a choice of potato salad or coleslaw. Cash and Square are accepted on-site, and pre-ordering is offered ahead of each event through the organizer’s page. Promoted as Wendell’s most superpowered event of the year, it offers a full day that unites the community, from caped crusaders to fantastical creatures, side quests to super vendors. For one day, Wendell transforms into a comic book world with heroes and villains in the spotlight.

Enjoy a low-pressure Pokémon League gathering designed for players of every age and experience level. Learn the rules, get tips to tune your deck, or simply play and trade in a friendly setting. Prize packs may be given out in ways that recognize learning, good sportsmanship, and active participation. Trading and deck advice are encouraged. For trades that include a child, a staff member must review and approve the exchange before it is finalized to keep deals fair. The emphasis is on a safe, positive community where everyone can have fun.
