Nick Lowe and more

Nick Lowe appears with Los Straitjackets for a performance that pairs sharp, tender songwriting with high-energy, guitar-driven instrumentals. As a producer, Lowe has worked with Elvis Costello, Graham Parker, Pretenders, and The Damned, and he has written several well-known songs alongside a brief pop-star turn before settling into a respected role among fellow musicians. From The Impossible Bird through The Old Magic, he crafted a run of intimate albums at his West London home with a tight-knit group of veteran players, and his shows have drawn critical praise for their elegance and emotional impact. In 2024 he released Indoor Safari with Los Straitjackets, extending a collaboration that brings his songs into vivid conversation with the band’s signature sound. Los Straitjackets stand as standard-bearers for instrumental guitar music, drawing on the spirit of The Ventures and The Shadows, with Link Wray and Dick Dale as points of departure. Recognizable in their Lucha Libre masks, they deliver original rock and roll with a charge that has fueled 16 albums, thousands of concerts, and appearances in dozens of films and TV shows. Together with Nick Lowe, the result is deft melodies, sly wit, and surf-sparked grooves.
