Nevada’s Recovery and Prevention presents the sixth annual R5k Run/Walk and Recovery Celebration at Idlewild Park. Organized in recognition of National Recovery Month, this gathering promotes community health and wellness, honors people in recovery, and works to lessen the stigma associated with addiction. Participants can complete a 5k run or walk in tribute to someone affected by substance use, followed by a recovery celebration that welcomes all community members. The post race celebration is free for the public whether or not they take part in the 5k. Food and family activities are planned, along with remarks from local guest speakers and advocates in recovery. Presented by IPMS Reno "High Rollers" in collaboration with the National Automobile Museum, this 25th annual model contest marks 250 years since United States independence. The Breakthrough T1D Walk is the largest worldwide gathering of the type 1 diabetes community, bringing people together with a shared purpose. This family-friendly event welcomes participants of every age and ability to raise awareness for T1D. Each step helps drive research, advocacy, and support that improve lives and move closer to cures.

This three-hour group class is designed to help you start breastfeeding or chestfeeding with confidence. Learn how lactation works, build awareness of your body, and imagine how feeding will fit into your daily routine. Topics include establishing a comfortable latch, recognizing feeding cues, identifying issues early, and selecting the supplies that truly make a difference. Partners also receive practical guidance on how to support the process. You will take home materials and details about local resources. A partner or other support person is encouraged to attend. Registration covers one parent and one additional support person.
