Under the Arch Madness is a free community celebration presented by the Downtown Reno Partnership, set beneath the Reno Arch in Downtown Reno. Fans of all ages can come together to revel in the energy of the city and Nevada basketball as the 2026-27 season approaches. The evening features on-court action with shooting and three point contests that include the men’s and women’s teams, along with participation from students, fans, and media. The Nevada Athletics Band, cheerleaders, and mascots add spirit throughout, and attendees will hear from Brian Sandoval, Athletics Director Stephanie Rempe, and Hillary Schieve while getting acquainted with the upcoming teams. After the main program, a team autograph session includes a limited edition event poster, and everyone receives a complimentary ticket to an exhibition men’s basketball game against Utah. Food and drink vendors, student DJs, and a kids zone in Locomotion Plaza round out the festivities, with giveaways along the way that reward the best Wolf Pack outfit and the most enthusiastic howling kid. The night wraps with photos on the court under the arch. Admission is free.

Superintendent Tiffany McMaster of the Washoe County School District and members of the Board of Trustees host a Strategic Plan Refresh Listening Session at Incline High School in Incline Village, NV. The district is beginning work on its 2027 to 2030 Strategic Plan, and community feedback will shape priorities that guide decisions about student success, district resources, and the future of education in Washoe County. Students, families, staff, and community members can share ideas, perspectives, and feedback in an open conversation focused on the path ahead. Trustees attending include Dr. Nicolet from District G and Clerk Hull from District A.

Multilingual reader Alison leads a free weekly storytime in the yoga studio at Biggest Little Baby. Designed for children of all ages and their grown ups, this session builds language and preliteracy and literacy skills through movement, songs, interaction, and stories presented in English, Spanish, French, and ASL. The program encourages a love of language and reading.

Each Friday, the dance floor at Incline Public House turns into a country line dancing scene with cold beer in the mix. This free, all-ages gathering includes line dance lessons, making it easy for newcomers and seasoned dancers alike to step into the rhythm.

A hands-on program at The Elephant Discovery Center invites participants of all ages to design fall themed enrichment for elephants using pumpkins, cardboard, and other simple materials. Enrichment items can include food and are intended to engage the animals, encourage natural behaviors, and support their physical and mental well-being. The session is free and family friendly, and clothing that can handle paint and markers is recommended. The wider series also offers storytelling, craft activities, and chances to hear from The Sanctuary’s veterinary and care staff about daily routines and behind the scenes operations. Visitors will not see or interact with elephants.

Brighten brunch plans with a bachata dance social presented by The Reno Empire and Sierra Event Group. It starts with a free one hour community lesson to help everyone learn the basics, then the dance floor opens for all to keep moving. Grab a drink like a mimosa or michelada and enjoy a lively gathering filled with music, energy, and laughter.
