Endless Mountains Heritage Region brings back its annual Fall Heritage Benefit Paddle, starting on the New York side of the river and covering an approximately 11-mile route from Nichols back to Sayre. Paddlers can take in vibrant autumn scenery across the Southern Tier of New York and northeastern Pennsylvania. Check-in and waiver signing take place at Sayre Riverfront Park, followed by a safety briefing and a shuttle to the launch in Nichols. After completing the river trip to Sayre, the group caravans to Bluestone Brewery for dinner and entertainment, which are included with registration. Proceeds support the Sayre Historical Society, founded in 1989 to preserve the community’s heritage. Participants are encouraged to bring weather-appropriate clothing and footwear, sunscreen, plenty of water, preferred snacks, and a dry bag for personal items. Registration is $60 for those bringing their own kayak and includes a donation to the Sayre Historical Society, insurance, dinner from Bluestone Brewing, and educational programming. Binghamton Jellystone Park transforms for the Let’s Get Spooky weekend with Halloween themed activities for all ages. Costumes are encouraged for trick or treating around the lake. The daytime schedule features Halloween games, carnival style fun, and candy quests. Young guests can explore the Haunted House without scares during Behind the Haunt Tours. When night falls, the Haunted House shifts to full scare sessions with eerie surprises. The magic pumpkin patch adds to the festivities with storytime, seed planting, wagon rides, and jack o lantern painting.

A league dressage competition features a full set of 2024 tests across Intro, Prelim, Novice, and Elementary, including 1 and 3 at each level. Please note if the rider is under 16 for junior entry. Riders may optionally share the horse’s age and rider’s age for consideration in special league awards. Show your horse’s passport at reception before unloading. Points are awarded per placing from first through sixth, with every participant receiving one point. Stepping up a level at the next competition gains an additional seven points. Walk tests do not earn points, though score sheets and rosettes are still provided. Safety and show guidelines apply. Approved riding hats must be worn whenever mounted. No lunging or dogs are permitted. Horses and ponies must be at least four years old.
