Presented by the Adirondak Bluegrass League at Queensbury VFW 6196 Auxiliary, The Kevin Prater Band salutes Kevin Prater's 45 years in bluegrass, a journey that began when he was seven. He has performed across 49 states and 24 countries and is widely known for a 12-year tenure with the James King Band, contributing to projects that earned album, song, and recorded event of the year honors. He also earned a banjo player of the year nomination during a three-year run with The Bluegrass Brothers. The band features Kevin on mandolin alongside Dalton Smith on guitar, Larry Cadle on bass, and Codie Allen on banjo. Their sound is rooted in hard-driving Kentucky bluegrass and spans classic country, bluegrass gospel, original material, and bluegrass-flavored takes on vintage rock. They are at work on a debut release with Turnberry Records of California, and their single "Kentucky Mountain Memories" reached number 6 on the Roots Music Charts.

This tournament uses 7-foot tables and a modified single elimination format. The entry fee is $50 per team and includes the greens fee. The skill level limit is 10, and all players must be on an active APA team roster. Players active only in 9-ball may enter using their 9-ball skill level. The event pays out 100 percent to the winning teams. Costumes are encouraged, with prizes for dressing up. Pre-registration is required.
