Music Director finalist Wesley Schulz launches the season with a program that explores an American musical voice, moving from spiritual roots to the shine of Hollywood. Violinist Rachel Lee Priday is featured in Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35. The program also includes Come Sunday by Omar Thomas and Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 From the New World. He has sold more than 25 million records worldwide, earned 21 Grammy nominations with multiple wins, achieved a dozen gold albums and nine that went platinum or multi-platinum, and notched five No. 1 entries on Billboard's country albums chart with 14 more reaching the Top 10. Honors include Artist of the Year from the Americana Music Association, BMI Country Music's President's Award, and induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019. His latest album, Brighter Days, arrived after a nine-year break and blends twelve new songs with covers tied to the Carter Family, Cake, and Chris Hillman of the Byrds, all unified by his singular style.
