Presented by Runfluent LLC, the third annual Rule The Roost serves as the final race of the Runfluent OHIO Trial series at Buzzard's Roost Nature Preserve. Runners can choose a 7K, a 12 hour solo challenge, or a 12 hour two person relay on a 7K loop that is entirely trail. The route is mostly hard packed and wide, includes some technical stretches, and offers overlooks and cliffs that showcase fall colors. A full aid station is available each lap, with a hydration station located mid loop. Awards will recognize the top three overall male and female finishers in the 12 hour solo race, top teams in male, female, and coed divisions, and the top male and female in the 7K. All finishers receive a finisher award and a race T. The venue is well suited for spectators and crew. Tent setup will be available in advance, and packet pickup details will be announced. Items in highest demand include shelf-stable food, toiletries and hygiene products, shoes with a special need for work boots, basic first aid supplies, socks and undergarments, clothing and shoes for babies and children, school supplies, and bags such as bookbags and travel bags. Additional helpful contributions include blankets and bedding, toys and games, hobby materials, books and DVDs, sports equipment, clothing, kitchenware, and general household items, along with anything else that someone may find useful. Shelf-stable food not selected will be saved for a future Free Market, and perishable food will be shared with blessing boxes and local programs.
