BLU hosts a bi-weekly blues jam that carries on a long-running tradition, led by NE Ohio all-star musicians John Markovic, Ryan Neuman, and Erik Diaz. The “BLUesday Tuesday” band brings more than six decades of combined experience from the Greater Akron blues scene, blending deep roots and varied influences into hot, stylish electric blues. Expect dynamic interplay, with musicians listening closely, feeding off each other’s energy, and laying down soulful, groove-rich rhythms. Musicians are welcome to bring a guitar or horn to play. Admission is free, and attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Jazz Heritage Orchestra presents a summer lab band residency at BLU Jazz+, guided by music director Dennis Reynolds. In a reading band setting, the ensemble tackles a steady stream of new charts throughout the season, giving audiences a window into fresh material as it comes together. The lineup will also feature newcomers, with talented young musicians joining to strengthen their large ensemble skills alongside the group. Admission is free.

This Friday lunchtime series offers a free meal with live music. The series runs every Friday in June, July, and August. The menu includes vegetarian burgers, chips, and water. Each week highlights a local artist, with a small extra treat planned for the Juneteenth and Independence Day holidays. E5C4P3 brings its celebrated Journey tribute to Lock 3 in Akron, Ohio. Touted by ProTributeBands.com as the leading Journey tribute act worldwide, the band has entertained audiences for more than three decades with faithful, note-for-note renditions of the biggest hits, the high-voltage feel of an authentic Journey show, and visuals that capture the spirit of the early 80s. Fronted by vocalist Jason Kelty, whose uncanny Steve Perry sound and era-specific attire reflect different tours and videos, E5C4P3 has performed for hundreds of thousands of fans. Their tour history includes shows in Okinawa, Japan and a week-long residency at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. The lineup features Billy Jones on drums, Dan Benezra on keyboards and guitar, George McGrew on guitars and Neal Schon lead vocals, Paul Soos on bass and Gregg Rolie lead vocals, and Jason Kelty as the voice of Steve Perry.
