    Energetic Facelift Walk-In Sessions

Lotus Grove Wellness, 33 Charles Ave SE, Massillon · verified Sep 27
    See details

Experience a gentle facial refresh that blends tuning forks, crystals, sound, and red light therapy. Settle in while tuning forks are placed on facial pressure points, then relax as an intuitively selected crystal layout rests on your forehead. The session closes with the soothing resonance of crystal bowls while you unwind under red light. This method highlights the role of nitric oxide in delivering oxygen and supporting healthy circulation. The body makes nitric oxide naturally, though production can lessen over time and may be influenced by certain medications. Applying 128 Hz and 136.1 Hz tuning forks to points on the face is used to encourage nitric oxide activity, helping soften lines, refine wrinkles, and tone facial muscles for a lifted feel. Red light on the face is intended to energize cells and support collagen production. It is used to smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles, assist with acne, and promote a more even tone. Protective eyewear is required during the red light portion. The experience is designed to be relaxing and noninvasive. There are no needles or toxins, and makeup remains intact. A session lasts about 40 minutes, and the cost is $40. Participants often seek benefits such as healthier-looking skin through improved circulation that brings oxygen and nutrients to the surface, which can support renewal and enhance texture and tone. Gentle sound vibrations may ease tension in the jaw, forehead, and around the eyes, encourage blood flow and lymphatic movement to reduce puffiness, and foster a natural glow. Many also appreciate the calming effect on the nervous system, which can lower stress and support a sense of peace. In energy-based traditions, sound is used to harmonize the body’s energy centers for overall well-being. Similar to facial reflexology, stimulating facial acupressure points with sound may also help with headaches, sinus discomfort, or other minor tension.

Relic: "The Blood of the Rose"

Gartner Auditorium, Cleveland · verified Sep 27
    See details

Relic, a period-instrument chamber orchestra, brings the myth of Venus and Adonis to life in “The Blood of the Rose,” a storytelling concert woven from Baroque music that spans Europe and Latin America. Drawing inspiration from Tomás de Torrejón y Velasco’s La Púrpura de la Rosa, the first opera performed in the Americas, with a libretto by Pedro Calderón de la Barca, the program follows the lovers from their first spark through Mars’s attempts to break them apart to a sorrowful end. The narrative unfolds across five musical chapters, each shaped by brief spoken passages from Calderón’s text, with a special focus on Spanish and Latin American repertoire and works inspired by the Venus and Adonis tale. Music by Torrejón y Velasco appears alongside selections by Roque Jacinto de Chavarría, Juan de Araujo, George Frideric Handel, John Blow, Alessandro Scarlatti, and others. Now in its third season, Relic is known for presenting early music in ways that feel close, creative, and theatrical, earning praise from New York Classical Review for its inventive style. The group’s chapter-based approach welcomes both new and seasoned listeners into a cohesive concert experience. Performing are violinists Aniela Eddy, Kako Boga, Laura Lutzke, Rebecca Nelson, and Toma Iliev, violist Graham Cohen, cellist Cullen O’Neil, bassist Sue Yelanjian, Robert Warner on harpsichord and organ, Daniel Swenberg on theorbo and guitar, and Georgeanne Banker on bassoon and recorder. See details

Big Jay Oakerson takes the stage at Pickwick & Frolic/Hilarities 4th Street Theatre with a relaxed, unfiltered style that leans into quick crowd work and unapologetically dirty humor. He began in Philadelphia, earned a reputation among fellow comics, and rose to wider recognition in New York, all while touring relentlessly and appearing at major festivals including Moontower, Bonnaroo, Mayhem Fest, the Gathering of the Juggalos, and Just For Laughs Montreal on both The Nasty Show and his own American Storyteller set. He is also a regular at the Vegas festival SkankFest, which he helps produce. On air, he co-hosts The Bonfire with Bob Kelly on SiriusXM and teams with Luis J. Gomez and Dave Smith for the Legion of Skanks podcast, plus The SDR Show alongside Ralph Sutton on the Gas Digital Network. His screen credits span This Is Not Happening with Ari Shaffir, Comedy Underground with Dave Attell, FX's Louie, Inside Amy Schumer, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brien, a memorable turn on IFC's Z-Rock, and Comedy Central staples like Premium Blend, Comedy Central Presents, and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. His first hour, Live at Webster Hall on Comedy Central, captured the grit and energy of a legendary New York venue, followed by a second special on Netflix as part of The Degenerates. He has three albums on Comedy Central Records, including two Crowdwork Sessions that highlight his off-the-cuff exchanges with audiences and his debut album An American Storyteller. Most recently, his YouTube hour Dog Belly, executive produced by Ari Shaffir and filmed during SkankFest, digs into personal territory from intimate insecurities to confronting being labeled a Nazi despite his Jewish identity.

(NE) Scout Led: Towpath Trail Level 2 & Lunch at Zakee

Zakee Mediterranean Street Food 1562 Akron Peninsula Rd, Akron, OH 44313, 1562 Akron Peninsula Rd, Akron · verified Sep 27
    See details

A scout-led women-only hike explores the Towpath Trail through Merriman Park Valley with a short Valley Link side adventure. Participants meet in the parking lot at Zakee Mediterranean Street Food, then set off toward Cascade Valley, pausing on the bridge for views of the Cuyahoga River, a few photos, and a brief bit of local history from the leader. The route continues along a Valley Link segment, possibly Schumacher Trail, before turning around at an informal halfway point and retracing the path back. Plan for roughly 3 to 4 miles at Level 2, mainly due to distance, with a slightly brisk but manageable pace. Expect some incline in this direction and additional elevation on the Valley Link. Surfaces include paved path, crushed limestone, and some potentially muddy stretches. Restrooms are available before the hike at nearby businesses in the plaza, including a stall inside Michael’s AM, and none were noted on the route during the most recent scouting, so a pre-hike stop is recommended. Wear comfortable hiking clothing and footwear suitable for pavement, limestone, and some mud, and consider a jacket, bug spray, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a fitness tracker if you like. Bring water, hiking poles if you use them, hand sanitizer or wipes, and a form of payment if you plan to stay for lunch. After the hike, those who wish can have lunch at Zakee Mediterranean Street Food, with build-your-own choices such as meat or falafel, vegetables, optional carb bases, toppings, and sauce. A gluten-free wrap option is mentioned. Pets are not permitted, and this outing is limited to women only, with no men and no children. Girls Who Hike Ohio is a member and volunteer-run meetup group, and participants are responsible for their own preparedness and safety. Check the event the morning of in case weather leads to a cancellation and reschedule.

Wish You Were Here brings its Sight & Sound of Pink Floyd production back to Akron Civic Theatre for a benefit supporting Akron Children’s Pediatric Palliative Care Center. This milestone 10th year of partnership with the theatre and WONE 97.5FM follows nine prior concerts that have raised more than $236,000 for Akron Children’s and the Haslinger Family Pediatric Palliative Care Center. To mark the occasion, ticket prices have been lowered to encourage fans and friends of the band and hospital to help reach a cumulative goal of $250,000. The concert offers a fully immersive Pink Floyd experience, centering on the classic 1970 to 1981 period with sweeping lights, a vintage circular screen featuring custom video, immersive sound effects and towering inflatables, plus a laser spectacle inspired by The Division Bell and a salute to the early Syd Barrett years. The 10-piece group covers the full Floyd catalog, from favorites on The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall to deep tracks for dedicated listeners, performed entirely live without prerecorded backing tracks. Debuting in 1987 as Harvest Pink Floyd Revue, the band has become the longest continually performing professional Pink Floyd tribute in the world and is recognized as the first and largest Floyd stage production in the United States, with a legacy of sold-out shows and notable festival and theater appearances across the Midwest. Proceeds support compassionate care for children from prenatal through young adult who face complex, chronic or serious conditions and the families who stand with them. The River of Life Fund helps cover essential non-medical expenses during a child’s illness, and contributions are tax-deductible.

Caesar Creek State Park Campground, 9000 Center Rd, Clinton · verified Sep 27
    See details

Celebrate National Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day at Caesar Creek State Park Campground with a Mountain Cubs Pedal Party focused on family fun. It is the closing morning of the Caesar Creek Trail Celebration campout weekend, and participation does not require camping. Children lead the pace while adults follow, with gentle trail segments, frequent breaks, and no emphasis on mileage. Repeating a favorite short stretch is encouraged. A CMBC ride leader and a BICP-certified coach guide the experience with skills games and obstacle challenges alongside the ride. Snacks are available throughout the morning. There is no racing and no timing. Every child must ride with a parent or guardian, there are no drop-offs, and leaders will be at the front and back so the group can regroup often. Arrive with a kid’s bike that is tuned and ready to roll. Helmets are required for all riders. Bring water and more snacks than expected. Riders must complete the CMBC waiver online in advance, and participants under 18 need a parent or guardian signature. After the Pedal Party, an intermediate ride heads out from the same location at an easy pace for about six miles with plenty of stops, suitable for adults and older kids who want additional miles. The terrain outside the campground loop is rooty, so progress can be slower than the distance suggests. Participation is free, and families are welcome to invite friends.

Taylor Bickett brings her intimate indie pop storytelling to Beachland Tavern. Raised in Indiana and writing songs since childhood, she crafts reflective songs with vulnerable lyrics and a powerful vocal range over organic, melodic production. Her breakout track QUARTER LIFE CRISIS resonated widely, inspiring hundreds of thousands of fan-made videos and tens of millions of streams, with figures like Drew Barrymore and Kevin Jonas sharing their own transformations to the song. She continued with the 2023 EP grown up and lonely, then opened 2024 with I Like Mondays and followed with the EP This Isn’t Me Missing You later that year. In 2025 she released The Crime, addressing violence against women and donating 30% of proceeds to The Circle, the global charity founded by Annie Lennox. That summer she played her first headline shows and toured with Charlotte Lawrence, and she has supported artists including Ron Pope, Christian French, BLÜ EYES, and Brynn Cartelli. Her 2026 single Wild Dogs offers an early glimpse of her debut album. This performance highlights the honest songwriting that has connected with listeners across a generation.
