Little Hands Nature Club: Wonderful Water
Little ones explore the wonders of water through playful, hands-on activities that may leave them a bit wet. Children test natural items to see what sinks and what floats, mix colors to create new shades, enjoy water-ball fun, and splash in shallow pools. Dress in clothing suitable for getting wet. The activities take place on the Discovery Center Porch at Oakwoods Nature Preserve. This program is designed for ages 3 to 6 with an accompanying adult, and siblings of other ages are welcome. Admission is free and no registration is required.

McComb’s sweetest tradition marks a milestone as the 20th Annual McComb Cookie Festival returns for a full weekend of cookies, music, and hometown pride. Friday evening begins beneath the entertainment tent with abundant food and live music. The Lion's Chicken BBQ and drinks set the scene while the community recognizes local athletes, band members, and festival royalty during a relaxed kickoff. Saturday offers something for all ages, starting with a 5K and continuing with a car show, a fishing derby, daylong and evening performances, a cookie stroll with family activities, bingo, a dunk tank, and games, along with spirited contests such as the Cookie Eating Contest and the Milk Stein Challenge. New this year, The Big Bite presented by Maker's Pride features an attempt to set a world record for the most people biting into a cookie at the same time. The celebration carries into the night with more entertainment, great food, and time with friends and neighbors, highlighting everything that makes the community special. Additional details will be announced.
