Teams go head to head in a fast-paced jigsaw challenge to see who can complete a 500-piece puzzle first. The quickest team earns the championship, and prizes are awarded to the first and second place finishers. Space is limited to seven teams. Each team must have a name and include two to four participants. This program welcomes ages 10 and up, including teens and adults. Participants can talk directly with a diabetic educator and a clinical counselor to ask questions and receive support. Carolyn Tienarend, a diabetic educator and dietitian, and Jeff Vogel, a licensed professional clinical counselor, will lead a conversation covering the types of diabetes, daily management, the importance of nutrition, and the role of emotional well-being in diabetes care and overall health. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided. The program is free and open to the public and is supported by the Fostoria Community Hospital Foundation Diabetic Education fund. Celebrate Earth Day with a family friendly day in the park filled with hands on activities indoors and outdoors. Outside, try recycling themed games like trash toss and ring toss, and craft a terrarium. Inside the Discovery Center, explore educational materials that explain why recycling is important and where to recycle. Guests are invited to bring plastic lids of any kind to donate, which will be turned into benches and tables for the Hancock County Fairgrounds. A reading of Welcome April is included as part of the festivities. All ages are welcome. This event is free and no registration is required. The activities take place at the Discovery Center in Oakwoods Nature Preserve.

Reiki I covers the history and principles of Reiki, core hand positions, self care methods, client session basics, and the primary healing technique. 2026 HHW/ Paint & Electronics Collection
The Hancock County Solid Waste Management District is holding a limited-time Household Hazardous Waste, paint, and electronics collection at the Hancock County Fairgrounds. The drop-off is free for Hancock County residents with proof of residency, and materials from businesses, companies, or contractors will not be accepted. Approved HHW and paint items include latex and oil-based paints, stains, thinners, aerosols, mercury, propane cylinders, household cleaners, fertilizers, pesticides, acids, oxidizers, lead-acid batteries, antifreeze, motor oil, and fuels. Electronics accepted include many non-working items such as stereos, laptops, computers and accessories, gaming systems, security cameras, and sound bars, while appliances are not accepted. This one-time collection is supported in part by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s Recycle Ohio Grant Program and is presented in cooperation with ERG Environmental and the Hancock County Fairgrounds. As a helpful tip, latex paint can be solidified with an absorbent like kitty litter or floor-dry, then disposed of with regular trash or at a landfill once fully hardened and with the lid removed.
