A folk musician and Black country artist, he is also a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, as well as a music scholar, historian, actor, slam poet, record collector, curator, podcaster, and cultural commentator. He created, hosts, and produces the American Songster Radio Show on WSM in Nashville, TN. A co-founder and original member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, the first Black string band to earn a GRAMMY Award, Flemons has spent more than 25 years receiving major honors, attracting worldwide media attention, and shaping the landscape of roots music. Publications such as MOJO Magazine have praised his mastery and the vitality he brings to tradition.

The Erastus Family Band brings a high energy rock show to Boardwalk Grill in Celina. Take in views of Grand Lake while enjoying food and drinks, and experience a relaxed, tropical vibe with a warm, welcoming local crowd.

Set on the lawn of the Watterson Center, this Homecoming Weekend celebration blends high energy, entertainment, and Oiler spirit. A talent show invites students, alumni, faculty, and staff to step into the spotlight for performances of about three to five minutes, with space for roughly 20 acts. Singing, dancing, comedy or spoken word, live music, and other unique talents are all welcome. The festivities also feature games and inflatables, and food will be available for purchase.

Route 33 Rhythm and Brews hosts The Filthy Heathens, a five-piece born from the spark among Bronson Hetzer, Ryan Palcic, and “Captain” Craig Bishop and rounded out by guitarists Cody Doench and Dawson Stepp. Their sound fuses Southern grit with an alternative edge, weaving classic country into hard rock for a style that refuses easy labels. Influences range from Skynyrd and Waylon to Blackberry Smoke and The Steel Woods, and the result is raw, road tested, and meant to be felt. On stage they play with relentless energy, pulling the crowd into the moment and away from their screens. Their catalog includes the debut EP Etheridge, featuring the singles Tupelo Sun and Devils Like Me, along with The Muscle Shoals Session, a live recording captured at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio that mirrors the unfiltered feel of their shows. The momentum keeps building as they continue to push forward.
