This is a steel challenge match, a speed and accuracy test that sharpens your fundamentals against the clock. Participants will shoot at steel targets, and their times will be recorded. It is a competitive, but not cutthroat, format that forces a balance of speed and precision. You shoot a course of fire, hit steel targets in sequence, and the timer stops when you ring the last one. Clean hits matter misses and penalties add time. Its a solid way to test your actual shooting skill under a little pressure and see how you stack up against other shooters in your area.

At Ottawa Metro Park, a family friendly drum circle welcomes everyone to make music together through spontaneous rhythms. Participants can bring a drum or any instrument, and shared percussion will be available for anyone without one. The focus is to provide a supportive setting for free, creative and musical expression. An optional community table will be set up for shared snacks, drinks and other nonalcoholic refreshments. For comfort, attendees may choose to bring chairs, yoga mats, blankets or rugs. Signs within the park direct participants to the amphitheater and the Peace Grove beneath the pine trees. No items are required beyond your presence.

6th Annual Public Car Show

The 6th annual public car show at The Lima Auto Mall welcomes cars, trucks, and motorcycles of every make and model. The gathering honors member Judy Reichenbach and is presented by the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America Western Buckeye Region together with Lima Auto Mall. Awards will recognize the top twenty five vehicles along with additional special honors, and the first 200 registrants receive dash plaques. Registration is $10 on the day of the show. Expect a DJ, food trucks, kids activities, and a 50/50 drawing.

Gears & Cheers 2026

Gears & Cheers is a kid-focused cycling event that encourages children of every ability to ride with purpose. From little ones in strollers to new riders and experienced neighborhood cyclists, participants follow a safe, age-appropriate course and aim to complete as many laps as possible. Families gather per-lap pledges or flat donations, and 100 percent of funds raised support Pelotonia Kids and pediatric cancer research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Children register, ride laps on a designated track, and see their effort translate into funding for research. Hosted by Gears & Beers, a local peloton that rides in Pelotonia to raise money for cancer research, this event returns for a second year.

Members Meeting and Public Stargaze

The Lima Astronomical Society hosts its monthly members meeting, followed by a program and public stargazing when weather allows. The meeting usually lasts about an hour or less before transitioning to the program. Visitors are asked to sign the guest log upon arrival. Both the meeting and program are open to the public, welcoming anyone curious about astronomy or interested in the Society. If skies are clear, public observing at Schoonover Observatory includes views through the dome telescope and time on the upper deck to learn constellations, look for planets, and watch for satellites. No experience is required, and observers of all levels are welcome. Attendees may bring their own telescope for assistance, and the gathering offers an opportunity to learn more about the organization.

Dakota Mathias Basketball Camp 2026 - ELIDA

Now in its ninth year, the Dakota Mathias Basketball Camp centers on fun and fundamentals while helping players build all-around skills. Campers spend each day in a mix of instruction, drills, and games that cover dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, guard work, and post play. The coaching team features Dakota Mathias alongside current professional athletes and current and former college players, bringing experience that spans the NBA, high-level international competition, and Division I programs. Every participant receives an exclusive 2026 camp T-shirt, a premium indoor and outdoor basketball, and a signed photo featuring the camper with Dakota. A meet and greet autograph session follows Day 2. The camp is known for a well-run, high-energy atmosphere with thoughtful touches like popsicles at the end of each day.
