📰 In the news
Child’s legacy inspires action: The Eastern Community YMCA and Toledo Public Schools partnered to offer swim lessons for east side second graders, honoring an Oakdale student and teaching water safety — learn more about the program.
Decision reshapes electricity charges: Ohio regulators approved a $29.5 million electric rate cut that took effect March 1 and extended repayment of $245 million in storm restoration costs to 25 years to ease bills — get details on the ruling.
Broader bus access arrives: ODOT’s GoBus expansion launches today, bringing more rural northwest Ohio communities into the network and doubling its service footprint, adding new connections to cities many Toledo-area riders rely on — get all the details.
Nothing prepares you for a pet emergency: I learned that the hard way after charging $10k to a credit card for life-saving surgery on my cat, Miss Stache. As soon as we got home, I signed up for Spot. It’s super affordable – and reimburses up to 90% of the bill.

🏆 Gold and silver are heating up
Together with our sponsor American Hartford Gold
Gold just posted its strongest run in decades… and the momentum is carrying into 2026. Silver has become one of the most talked-about assets as investors look for ways to stay ahead of market volatility.
While many are still sitting on the sidelines, others are quietly repositioning.
If you’re wondering whether you’re missing something, AHG has a free guide explaining what’s driving the renewed interest… and how investors are approaching precious metals right now.
It’s free and worth reading before the next move.

🫶 We got your back
Crave-worthy jumbo wings: When that wing itch hits, Wild Wild Wings serves crispy, meaty drums and flats with American-meets-Greek vibes… from classic buffalo to garlicky parmesan and a few wildcards. Ideal for a low-key night when you want bold flavor that actually shows up.
Self-care, sorted: Family-owned Beauty Bar pairs salon services with an in-house apothecary, so you can book a cut, add a facial, and restock Dermalogica or Davines in one stop. Low-key convenient when the week gets wild, and a nice way to keep your routine simple.
Time for a tee fix: Heather Downs Country Club cures cabin fever with easygoing golf: a spontaneous round, a league night, or time in the clubhouse with friends, all while plotting that one swing tweak you just know will turn the season around. Familiar, friendly, and ready for every itch to play.
Thinning hair? It only gets worse: A few months ago, I noticed my ponytail getting thinner. I tried the usual stuff (biotin, shampoo, etc.) but mostly just hoped it would fix itself… until I learned that active follicles can permanently go dormant if you don’t do something about it. The good news? You can get treatment that actually works with no office visits or trips to the pharmacy. Learn more about my favorite online options here.

Someone Googled you this week 👀
It may feel like an invasion of privacy, but unfortunately It’s the new normal. Whether you’re joining a committee, selling something locally, dating again, or just meeting new neighbors… people are going to look you up online.
Like it or not, the internet has a way of surfacing past mistakes and outdated information that no longer reflects who you are.
Thankfully, there’s a really easy way for you – or someone you care about – to clean up outdated results that no longer tell the real story. Learn more here.
This house is wild
This 4-bed waterfront home spans four levels with high ceilings and natural hardwood in most rooms. Two fireplaces add cozy character. A park sits across the street, the zoo and Anthony Wayne Trail are nearby. Quirky extras include a dog kennel and a peacock cage. Glass block windows, a canning cellar, and a basement workshop round it out.
