The Play That Goes Wrong presented by OCT

OCT presents the smash-hit farce from Mischief, following the Cornley University Drama Society as their 1920s mystery The Murder at Haversham Manor careens from small slipups to full-blown chaos. Cues go awry, the leading lady is unconscious, the so-called corpse will not stay still, and performers stumble over the set and their lines, yet the determined troupe fights to reach the final curtain with riotous results. Blending the zany spirit of Monty Python with a touch of Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award winning comedy has delighted audiences across the globe. Staged at Fassett Auditorium, the production is led by producer Erin Hagedorn, director Amy Spaulding-Heuring, and stage manager Ann Sommers. Written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields. Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors 60 plus and students.

Alexander Zonjic

Alexander Zonjic brings his smooth jazz and R&B flute to the stage with music rooted in his Detroit story. After Doin’ the D, he returned with Playing It Forward on his Hi-Falutin Music label, highlighted by the single Motor City Sway, written and produced by James Lloyd of Pieces of a Dream. The track reached the Billboard Smooth Jazz Songs chart and was a top add for consecutive weeks, while much of the album was shaped by producer Jeff Lorber, who also guided earlier releases Reach for the Sky, Seldom Blues, and Doin’ the D. A Windsor, Ontario native just across the river, Zonjic is a 15-time Detroit Music Awards recipient and a familiar media presence, from years hosting mornings at WVMV to his weekly TV series Alexander Zonjic from A to Z on WADL TV-38 and his magazine-style radio and music show Doin’ The D on WFDF 910-AM. His longtime collaboration with keyboard great Bob James began at Baker’s Keyboard Lounge and led to touring, production on the major-label debut Neon alongside Kirk Whalum, and a guest appearance on Passion with a vocal feature by Angela Bofill. Offstage, he curates and produces more than ten annual regional festivals through Hi-Falutin Music and supports Detroit-area nonprofits with efforts like the Soup City benefit for COTS, partnerships with the Children’s Foundation including Derby For Kids, projects with Mariner’s Inn, and work with Franklin Wright Settlements, Habitat for Humanities, Lighthouse of Oakland County, Windsor Downtown Mission, SAY Detroit, and Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac. The performance takes place at Lucille’s, a comfortable listening room known for clear sightlines, quality sound, a mix of jazz, blues, and Latin programming, and food. Founded in 2021, this publicly accessible jazz lounge is located inside TolHouse, a private members-only social club created for the city’s creative and entrepreneurial community. Cyclical Living

Designed for menstruating women ready to work with their bodies, this Cyclical Living session focuses on aligning expectations with real energy and capacity to reduce burnout, tapping into cyclical strengths, and shaping daily and monthly rhythms that feel sustainable. Each session stands alone while also building a clearer understanding of how the menstrual cycle functions and how thoughtful shifts in nourishment, rest, movement, and daily structure can support steadier well-being throughout the month. Led by Alexandra Lewis, an Ayurvedic practitioner specializing in female hormones with a bachelor’s degree in Integrative Medicine from Maharishi University and founder of the Avira Method, the approach blends Ayurvedic insight with modern physiology to provide practical, education-centered tools for cycle awareness and a more sustainable relationship with the body. Family Friendly Musical Theatre Bingo

A musical theatre twist on bingo comes to The Historic Ohio Theatre in Toledo, raising funds for Children’s Theatre Workshop. Instead of calling out numbers right away, rounds cue spaces by playing familiar songs from popular stage productions. Players may name the show or wait for the caller to share it after a verse, then mark the matching spot on their card. Traditional 75 ball play sets the framework. Cards have 25 squares with a center free space and columns labeled B, I, N, G, O aligned to specific number ranges. The required pattern is announced before each game, whether a straight line, a full card or a special shape. Numbers are drawn at random and players mark matches. A win must be called out immediately so staff can verify against the numbers drawn. If more than one person finishes at the same time, the prize is divided equally. All numbers go back into the mix for the next round and a fresh, single use card is required. Bingo cards are available at the door or online. Participants must be at least 8 years old in accordance with Ohio law.

Flamenco Vivo - Variety Series

Flamenco Vivo, a New York City-based company, presents a world music and dance program that blends raw feeling, virtuosic technique, and deep cultural roots. Born in Andalusia in southern Spain, flamenco draws from Romani, Moorish, Jewish, and Spanish folk traditions, creating a powerfully expressive, multicultural form. Dancers communicate sorrow, joy, and everything between through crisp footwork, graceful arms, and intense expression, often improvising with the guitarist and singer in real time. The close interplay among music and movement generates an electric, immersive atmosphere. Flamenco is more than a dance. It is storytelling that captivates with passion, intricacy, and authenticity. In addition to the public performance, the residency includes a lecture and demonstration at the Sofia Quintero Cultural Center, plus two Valentine School Days presentations where students visit the Valentine Theatre to explore the history and culture of flamenco through live music and dance. The result combines Monty Python style antics with a Sherlock Holmes mystery for a whirlwind of slapstick and sleuthing. Produced by Erin Hagedorn, directed by Amy Spaulding-Heuring, and stage managed by Ann Sommers. Written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields. River Raids III: Beach Episode

Set in Walbridge Park in Toledo, this playful Belegarth gathering trades epic campaigns for a beach day vibe, imagining the Dwarves of Moria taking a well-earned breather with cheeky nods to Gimli, Legolas, and anime tropes while the larger saga waits for its next chapter. Organized by The Sovereign Blades as a Sanctorium event, the day features weapons checks, casual pick-up fights, and scenario-driven battles. Off the field, a tea party offers a relaxed counterpoint, and water, snacks, and sunscreen will be available. Admission is 5 dollars. The event follows the Belegarth ruleset. Heralds serve as on-field officials dedicated to safety and fairness, so their calls should be respected during combat, with any concerns addressed after the fight.
