Canterbury Youth Voices hosts the concluding audition day for Season 26-27, open to students in grades 2 through 12. The event takes place at the Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University.

TailSpin: A Scissortail Park Music Festival brings a big summer weekend to the heart of downtown OKC with two nights and two headliners. As part of the Scissortail Park Summer Concert Series, the first night spotlights OKC indie rock favorites Husbands, known for huge choruses, colorful arrangements, and emotionally charged songs about finding your place in the world, drawing from their fourth album CUATRO. Supporting sets come from Messies, Mad Honey, and Foxburrows. The second night features alternative rock mainstays Letters to Cleo, recognized for the hit Here & Now and memorable contributions to 10 Things I Hate About You, Josie and the Pussycats, and Parks and Recreation, with performances from Call Me Sparrow, Bailey Boy, Chelsea Days, and the Casii Stephan Band building the momentum. Lineup is subject to change. The Scissortail Park Summer Concert Series is presented by The Chickasaw Nation and supported by American Fidelity, Omni Oklahoma City Hotel, BancFirst, and Midtown Renaissance OKC.

Explore a relaxed, instructor-led art experience where everything celebrates ferrets. Projects can include clay creations, watercolor paintings, ceramics, keychains, mixed media and more, all with a ferret theme. All ages are welcome. Cost is $25. Spend time with studio ferret mascots Slinky, Yo-yo, Kazoo, Lego and Fidget. Ferrets may be playful or asleep during class, and gentle snuggling is still possible. An open, all-ages drum circle at Edgemere Park welcomes beginners and anyone who wants to participate. Some drums will be available to share, and participants may bring any instrument to help create joyful sounds together. The focus is simple, have fun while drumming, listening, dancing, or singing, and enjoy the spirit of rhythm. Attendees should bring a chair, with a limited number of extras available on a first come, first served basis.

A college-style softball tournament at Rose State College features 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions with four teams in each. Day 1 includes two pool play games per team, then Day 2 moves into a single-elimination bracket to decide the champions. Pool games are 55 minutes with finish-the-inning, and bracket games are 75 minutes. Teams may roster up to 15 players, due at check-in. All bats must have a USSSA or ASA stamp, and metal cleats are not allowed for 12U and under. The host keeps the official scorebook. On-site amenities include concessions, restrooms, and shade structures. Trophies are awarded to first and second place. If weather disrupts play, schedule updates will be posted to the tournament website, and refunds will be provided if the event is canceled. Entry is $300 per team before the price change or $350 afterward, and umpire fees are included. A registration deadline applies.

Young animal lovers can spend a half day immersed in creative art as they adopt an 8 inch plush companion, choosing from kittens, puppies, or bunnies, and then create a world for their new friend. Participants design a cozy home with markers, weave a felt rug, sculpt and paint clay dishes and toys, decorate a felt blanket, and craft a personalized chenille stem collar with name beads. The camp is planned with ages 5 to 10 in mind, and older children may enjoy the projects as well. The cost is $50.

At the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Babies at the Museum welcomes little ones from birth to 24 months and their caregivers for a playful morning centered on shapes, textures, and building. Inspired by Lisa Hoke’s installation Come on Down, Oklahoma, activities highlight stacking, balancing, and creating forms with blocks, paired with a story, engaging materials, and plenty of hands-on discovery. The program now takes place twice each month with the same theme and activities, and families are asked to choose only one session to help make room for more participants. Expect a relaxed start with coffee in the Family Space, guided time in the galleries upstairs, then the option to continue exploring on your own or return for more play. The tournament starts at 10:00 AM, using a Swiss format with best-of-1 matches and a top cut. Matches are timed with 30 minute rounds and 5 minutes for overtime, plus end-of-round procedures. Deck list submission is due at 8:00 PM local time on Friday, August 7, 2026, and failure to submit on time results in a Round 1 loss. No outside food or beverages are allowed.
