Each class begins with demonstrations, then moves into guided practice covering the basics of throwing clay, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. The session includes 1.5 hours of instruction and materials for $60 per person. Trimming and finishing are not taught in this class, and the studio will trim, fire, and glaze your piece for you. You may keep the pieces you create, which will be available for pickup three weeks after your class and will be held for up to 30 days. Class size is limited to five participants. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and registering at least two hours before the start helps secure a spot since walk-ins are usually unavailable. Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. The class begins promptly, and late arrivals may not be able to complete the project. Arrival 20 minutes or more after the start is considered a cancellation with no refund. All tickets are non-refundable. Participants must be at least 14 years old, and anyone under 18 must have a guardian sign a waiver. Wear clothing and shoes you do not mind getting muddy, and take necessary precautions if you have cuts or abrasions on your hands. Please note the allergen warning. The studio is home to a shop cat named Fishstick, so attendance is not advised for anyone with a cat allergy.
