Ancient Juniper Hike & Old-Growth Forest Network Dedication Celebration
The High Desert Chapter partners with the Old-Growth Forest Network to celebrate the ancient woodlands safeguarded within the Oregon Badlands BLM Wilderness. The gathering begins with brief remarks from the hosts, then continues with a guided nature walk on the Ancient Juniper Trail to showcase the landscape’s distinctive features. Participants will meet at the Flatiron Rock Trailhead.
Flatiron Rock TrailheadBotanical Dye Workshop
Discover printing with botanicals in a relaxing, beginner-friendly workshop that uses flowers and other natural materials. Participants learn the basics of natural dyes and freeform textile design, including how to mordant fabric and explore a variety of dye flowers. Using homegrown dye blooms and a steamed bundle technique, each person creates a silk scarf. All supplies are included, and everyone leaves with a unique, naturally colored scarf.
Locavore Spring Gala
An evening centered on local food and impact features a gourmet farm to table dinner alongside a carefully curated silent auction, a vacation station, a wine wall, and a live paddle raise. Farmers will be seated among guests, creating a direct connection with the people who grow the region’s food. In a pivotal moment for Locavore, a capital fundraising goal will be activated live and an expansion strategy will be introduced publicly, including plans for an additional location on Bend’s west side. The gathering brings together Central Oregon’s engaged leaders and changemakers, including entrepreneurs, developers, farmers, and philanthropists, and is designed to connect those actively shaping the region with momentum amplified by Locavore’s trusted and highly engaged community.
