Created by the Emergency Medicine Institute, this structured five-day camp welcomes motivated teens ages 13 to 17 who want to explore careers in health and public safety. Participants focus on personal health and wellness, career professionalism, and key skills relevant to working in these fields. Over the course of the week, they engage with professionals from fire, police, EMS, K9, wilderness medicine, physicians, nurses and others, and take tours of hospital departments, including the Emergency Department and Trauma Bay. All participants complete American Heart Association CPR and First Aid training and earn Stop the Bleed certification while also building practical life and business skills. Each teen gives a five-minute oral presentation to peers on a health or public safety topic. The registration fee is $200 and includes a camp T-shirt, a light breakfast each day, and the listed certifications.

Hosted at Bethlehem Municipal Golf Club, the Walla Gazoo Golf Tournament is an annual event that sells out, assembling a field of 132 participants for friendly competition, good food, and prizes. August JuxTuesday features a mix of art, making, and community connection at JuxtaHub. Explore the current exhibition of brand new works by Resident Artists, meet them on the second floor, and enjoy refreshments, with some beverages provided by Yergey Brewing. In the classroom, Joyful Giving partners with Hannah Votta Coleman and JuxtaHub to assemble Joy Maker bags for the community. Guests can lend a hand with the packing. Those who wish to contribute items can look for the list in the discussion section of the event page or bring donations to the activity during August JuxTuesday. Joyful Giving grew from Hannah Votta Coleman’s Joyfuls gift box business launched in 2017 and inspired by her daughter, Charlotte Joy. She later envisioned a non-profit branch, and Joyful Giving has been building community relationships and spreading joy since 2022. The ceramics studio will be open for a look at what is in progress. In the Convergent Maker Space, Fix-It Night invites community members to bring broken household items and learn repair skills alongside volunteer experts. JuxtaHub notes that repairs cannot be guaranteed for every item or participant.

Coca-Cola Park hosts a dog friendly night at the ballgame featuring Freedom First Rescue, as the Lehigh Valley IronPigs face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Attendees can watch the action with their pups and enjoy classic ballpark fare while helping shine a light on dogs searching for forever homes. For tickets purchased through a designated link, $6 per ticket benefits Freedom First Rescue. Freedom First Rescue is a 501c3 organization with PA Kennel License #17625.

Miss Sue leads a summer storytime filled with stories, songs, and hands-on crafts for participants of all ages. This is a drop-in program, and no library card or advance registration is required.

Presented by McClure Company, this free community celebration brings the Allentown School District, the Allentown Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Allentown together for a spirited back to school bash at Cedar Beach Park. He was a finalist on Netflix’s Funny AF, the competition series hosted by Kevin Hart where comics from across the country vied for a breakout spot, and he advanced to the final four. Known for mixing big laughs with heart, he drew enthusiastic responses to his finale performance from fans online. A longtime presence in stand-up, he has toured with Amanda Seales and Chris Redd and produces the show Productively Stoned. His work has been seen on BET, Hulu, Prime Video, and Netflix. Tickets are priced at $25 and $35.

The 46th annual intertribal festival at the Museum of Indian Culture celebrates culture, community, and tradition with a full slate of music, dance, food, and hands-on activities. Experience Native American drumming, singing, and dancing, along with powwow demonstrations, craft vendors, life skills demonstrations, and Indigenous cuisine featuring fire-roasted corn. Headlining is Bill Miller, a Mohican flutist, recording artist, songwriter, and storyteller who is a three-time Grammy Award winner. The Youngblood Singers of the Shinnecock Nation appear as the host drum, joined by Inca flute artist Sicanni Purizaca and the Salinas Family from Mexico City presenting Aztec dance. Families can enjoy a kids craft area, atlatl and tomahawk throwing, and talks held in a teepee. A grand entrance is part of the festivities, and the event takes place rain or shine. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for teens and seniors, children 11 and under attend free, and members receive two complimentary tickets. Attendees may want to bring lawn chairs and an appetite for culture and community.

The 5th Annual Cornhole Night returns to Coca-Cola Park with a full day built around friendly competition and baseball. Teams bring their own partner for a cornhole tournament that unfolds before the game, then settle in to watch the Pigs face the Scranton RailRiders. A fireworks show follows the game, and the bracket finals close out the night on the field. Pre-registration is encouraged to secure a spot, as the field is capped at 72 teams. Each team plays four preliminary rounders to set seeding and is guaranteed at least six games. After seeding, play continues in double-elimination brackets split into Advanced, Competitive, and Social divisions based on results. Registration includes two tickets per team for the game and party patio, along with buffet service and soft drinks on the party patio during the game. The entry fee is $105 per team, payable through the Scoreholio app, Venmo, or in cash on site. Spectator passes are available for $30 and include early entry to watch the tournament plus access to the picnic patio and buffet during the game. Cash prizes go to the top three finishers in the Competitive division at $800, $500, and $300, and to the top three in the Social division at $200, $150, and $100. The top three Backyard teams receive gift cards and prizes. Payouts are based on a 64-team field. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and outside food or drinks are not permitted.
