    Tarot 101

Butler · The Shops on West Diamond, 6 W Diamond St

Build a confident connection with tarot from the very start in a beginner-focused class at The Shops on West Diamond. Explore tarot as a symbolic language with deep roots in history, then learn how the Rider-Waite-Smith deck shaped many modern interpretations. The session explains how the Major and Minor Arcana relate to one another, offers straightforward spreads you can use right away, and clears up common myths so you can focus on what truly supports a clear reading. The teaching style is practical and welcoming, with no information overload, no exclusivity, and no expectation of psychic ability. You will come away understanding how tarot works, how to begin reading immediately, and how to trust your intuition as it grows. Participants receive a Rider-Waite-Smith deck to keep, guided instruction with live discussion, and a supportive environment designed for newcomers. It is a good fit for absolute beginners, anyone who owns a deck but feels unsure how to use it, people seeking both structure and intuition, and spiritual seekers who want a grounded starting point. No prior experience is needed, just curiosity and an open mind. The fee is $75, and the class runs for approximately 90 minutes.

    It's A USO Christmas

Zelienople · The Strand Theater, 119 N Main St

The Strand revives the spirit of classic USO holiday tours with a throwback variety concert filled with continuous music, witty comedy, and playful behind the scenes moments. Inspired by the 1940s and 50s shows that lifted troop morale, the production nods to icons like Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Marilyn Monroe, and The Andrews Sisters while threading a lighthearted backstage story through the onstage numbers. A quick-on-his-feet emcee works to keep the company in step, a glamorous songstress croons favorites such as Santa Baby and The Christmas Song, a big-hearted belter turns laughter into tears and back again, and a clean-cut GI with a soaring voice brings the house together. Audiences have embraced this annual tradition more and more each year, placing it alongside beloved holiday staples like A Musical Christmas Carol and The Nutcracker. The show is an exclusive Strand presentation, offered only here. A portion of ticket sales supports the United Service Organizations, and the production is authorized to use the USO name. That authorization permits the name’s use and does not imply an endorsement. Reserved seating is available, priced from $25 to $35.
