Succulent Shadow Box Workshop

Create a framed mini plant display at a hands-on workshop using natural wood, stones, and lifelike faux succulents. The experience includes a wooden frame with backing, natural sticks and stones, a variety of artificial succulents, all tools and materials, and step by step guidance for beginners. The project usually takes a little over an hour, allowing plenty of unhurried creative time. Snacks and refreshments are provided. Teens and adults are welcome. The fee is $34 per person. Create a custom pressed flower resin tray in a hands-on workshop held off site at Ashmans Cozy Nest. Participants can select from a range of pressed blooms or bring their own, provided they are already pressed and flat. After arranging a personalized layout, the project is finished with a food-safe, waterproof resin pour that preserves and highlights the design. Pieces remain in the studio to cure, with pickup or shipping available once they are ready. Sample images are shared for ideas, and every tray will be one of a kind.

This one-hour restorative yoga session brings together gentle, supported postures, nervous system regulation, breathwork, and somatic awareness to ease tension and settle both body and mind. Friday June 26th- OPEN Resin Pour Night 5p-8p

Enjoy an instructor-led resin pour workshop focused on hands-on creativity. Walk-ins are welcome, and there is an option to reserve a seat with a $25 deposit that will be credited toward the project you choose during the workshop. Choose your colors, themes, and project when you arrive, and please note that selection is first come, first served. The studio offers a wide range of projects priced from $25 to $95 and up, including acacia cutting boards, round or rectangular wood trays, resin seascape frames, coasters, tumblers, and more. You may also bring your own tray or board, with additional pour fees based on size... $5 for up to a 6 inch pour, $10 for 7 to 10 inches, $15 for 11 to 14 inches, and $20 for 15 inches or larger. If you plan to complete two projects, the second pour is $25 plus the applicable size-based pour fee. Instructors can help personalize each piece, and optional sand and shells are available for a beachy effect for an extra $3 to $8, or you can bring your own. Resin requires 48 hours to cure, so finished pieces will be ready for pickup two to three days after the workshop. Ages 13 and up are welcome. Come see our "Here Comes the Sun" Art Exhibit at Gallery 50!

Gallery 50 presents “Here Comes the Sun,” a new exhibition that bids farewell to winter and welcomes the brighter seasons. The show highlights the sun through landscapes, flowers, sky scenes, and more, presented in oil, acrylic, pastel, photography, watercolor, and enamel on copper. Featured area artists include Jonathan Frazier, Robyn Jacobs, Sarah Maclay, Pat McCleary, Mary Moores, Judy Pyle, Jayne Shord, Anne St. John, Lindsay Tozier-School, Anita Williams, and Marti Yeager. The gallery also spotlights a new mural in Music Makers by Nigel Sussman, an artist based in Berkeley, CA, who spent formative years in Smithsburg, MD, and Waynesboro. His large-scale works pair simple color palettes with intricate seek-and-find imagery that often features fantastical architecture or imaginary machines, all rendered by hand. In addition to the exhibition, the gallery offers new fine art and crafts by local creators, including pottery, wood carvings, jewelry, stained glass art, and books by local authors. A guardian must be present for participants ages 4 to 10. Designed for widows and widowers of any age, this support group offers a caring space to share experiences and receive encouragement from others who understand loss. A supervised activity group for children can be reserved to run at the same time as the adult session, and assistance with infant or toddler care may be arranged upon request. Registration is required for the children’s group to ensure adequate volunteers and child safety. As participation grows, there are plans to consider more tailored groups, such as for bereaved spouses with school-age children or for older adults, and a possible daytime option. Treat your pup to a bath while supporting a good cause. All proceeds and donations benefit Saving Grace Animal Rescue of MD. Services include a bath for small and medium dogs up to 50 pounds for $15, a large bath for dogs 50 to 70 pounds for $20, and an extra-large bath for dogs over 70 pounds for $25, plus nail trims for $10. Midnight Moving Company Band Returns | Party on Shuffle - On the Patio @ Relax Lounge

Returning with an outdoor patio set, this show turns the party into a shuffle of hits from the 80s through the 2000s, spanning genres to keep the dance floor moving. Expect crowd favorites, plenty of chances to sing along, and high energy throughout, with moments of audience participation when the microphone heads into the crowd. The plan is to perform outside on the patio if the weather cooperates, with an indoor option if conditions change.

This 16-hour class satisfies Maryland’s training requirement for the Wear and Carry Permit. Instruction covers essential firearm safety, Maryland laws, situational awareness practices, concealed carry methods, core shooting skills, and additional material. Participants should bring a handgun, eye and ear protection, and at least 150 rounds of ammunition. The course is led by Dan Gaskin, a law enforcement professional with more than 20 years of service and over a decade of firearms instruction for civilians and police across the country. Stars, Stripes, & Summer Nights

Antrim Township and the Heart of Antrim are organizing a family friendly celebration at Antrim Township Community Park as part of the local America250 commemoration of the United States 250th anniversary. The gathering is envisioned as a community-focused evening with summer fun, food, entertainment, and patriotic spirit. If plans hold, expected highlights include a fireworks show to cap the night, an assortment of food trucks, face painting and patriotic crafts, bounce houses and inflatable obstacle courses, a touch-a-truck area, horse demonstrations, Hiland cows provided by Antrim Spring Farm, demonstrations by fire and EMS along with other community showcases, hay rides, a scavenger hunt, and lawn games with other activities. Manitowoc-Grove also plans to participate by bringing a crane that will display a large American flag. Plans are still developing and more attractions, entertainment, and schedule details will be shared as planning progresses.

Renfrew Museum and Park marks five decades as a museum, historic site, and local landmark recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. As part of this milestone, a Volunteer Open House welcomes community-minded people to learn how they can support the mission through signature events, field trips, guest services, and everyday operations. Volunteers assist professional staff with programming, gardening, grounds care, tours and interpretation, collections and exhibits, and guest engagement. Attendees can stop by Renfrew’s Visitors Center in the big white bank barn to ask questions, pick up or complete a volunteer form, and meet Renfrew’s Executive Director.
