The United European Ballet brings The Nutcracker to the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center in Shippensburg, presented by Classical Arts Entertainment. Set to Tchaikovsky’s celebrated score, the story follows young Clara from a mysterious gift to a dreamlike adventure filled with shimmering snowflakes, a battle with the Mouse King, and a visit to the Land of Sweets. This Broadway-style staging combines classical ballet with theatrical magic, featuring an international cast that includes leading soloists from Ukraine, hand-painted scenery created by Ukrainian artists, and more than 200 finely crafted costumes by European designers. Iconic moments such as the Snow Scene, the Waltz of the Flowers, and the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy take center stage. The ballet is performed in two acts with one intermission and is family-friendly, suitable for ages 3 and up.
