    Dan Tyminski

The State Theatre, 130 W College Ave, State College · verified Aug 7
    See details

Dan Tyminski brings a live performance shaped by a lifetime in bluegrass, rooted in early days spent at fiddle contests, square dances, and New England festivals. That foundation fuels a stage show driven by the same love of live music that sparked his journey as a kid. Recognized worldwide for lending his voice to George Clooney on the Stanley Brothers classic I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow in the film Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?, and for the global hit Hey Brother with Avicii, he bridges tradition and modern sounds with ease. His path includes early work with Green Mountain Bluegrass and the Lonesome River Band, pivotal years with Alison Krauss and Union Station, and a string of solo releases such as Carry Me Across the Mountain, the Grammy-nominated Wheels, the boundary-pushing Southern Gothic, the Tony Rice tribute One More Time Before You Go with guests including Molly Tuttle, Sam Bush, Dailey & Vincent, and Billy Strings, and the bluegrass album God Fearing Heathen which reached the top of Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums chart. A 14-time Grammy winner and multiple International Bluegrass Music Association honoree, Tyminski is an in-demand songwriter and collaborator with credits alongside Monty Criswell, Phillip Lammonds, Kristian Bush, Ashley Monroe, and Chris Stapleton, as well as recordings with a host of country and roots luminaries. His concert release Live From The Ryman captures the electricity of his shows and reflects the passion he continues to bring to the stage. There is a limit of 10 tickets per customer, with both a member presale and a public on-sale.
