Physics Friday invites children ages 8 and up to dive into physical science through interactive experiments and try-it-yourself activities. Participants investigate energy, electricity, and light, along with the principles described by Newton’s laws of motion, building understanding through practical exploration in a welcoming, kid-focused format.

Explore the time-honored Scandinavian technique of naalbinding, often known as toothbrush rug making, in a beginner-friendly workshop. Learn foundational stitches and transform upcycled materials into a single coaster or a coordinating set. All supplies are provided, and instruction is designed for ages 12 and up. The class meets in the meeting room at the Busti Historical Society, with free parking available in the lot by the mill. Pre-registration is required. The cost is $25 per person, with a discounted rate of $20 for BHS members.

Take a guided look inside select mausoleums and gravesites at Lake View Cemetery in Jamestown, New York. Established in 1859, this historic setting becomes a stage for costumed actors who share engaging stories about the individuals and families memorialized there. Light refreshments are served after the tour. Multiple sessions are available. Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members, and payment is required to reserve spots. Back by popular demand, CCHS Pet Expo '26 comes to Northwest Arena with plans underway for a lively and educational experience for every guest. CCHS is actively preparing the event to be both informative and fun. Updates on vendor sign-ups, event details, and ticket availability will be shared as planning continues.

Following a weather delay, the WGT: Drop the Mic red carpet rock and roll finale has been moved to a new date that no longer overlaps with Warren’s Homecoming. Safety for contestants, performers, judges, crew, and audience guided the postponement, and the big finish will now unfold at Pellegrino’s Creekside Pavilion. Expect a red carpet vibe, guest performances, and competitors stepping back on stage, with the contest proceeding as planned. The schedule change lets the community enjoy homecoming, then return for an electric night of music and talent. The rain paused the show, not the sound.

The Hallow Society returns to Fat Daddy's to rock the stage with an energetic set. Expect a loud, high-octane night of live music as the group brings its sound back to the venue.

The group will meet at KPIC, then split into smaller teams to handle tasks such as clearing blowdowns, routine trail upkeep, weed trimming, and leaf blowing, with the focus shaped by turnout. Work may also extend to Sam's Rocks across the bridge, depending on which projects are ready to be finished. Participants are asked to bring water, a helmet, long pants, gloves, and closed-toe shoes, with flip flops discouraged, along with a can-do attitude. More hands are needed so the responsibility of caring for this trail system does not rest on the same few people.

This three-part presentation explores regional folklore, historical inquiry, and contemporary perspectives on witchcraft and the supernatural. It opens with the story of three West Valley Central School teachers who, from 1979 to 1981, investigated the legend of Sophia Disch, known by many as the Witch of West Valley, delving into the Disch family history and the community beliefs that labeled Sophia a witch during her life and after her death. The second segment tours Chautauqua County to share unresolved tales of ghosts and spirits said to linger in nearby towns and villages, encouraging attendees to consider their own investigations using modern technology. The program concludes with a brief look at the role of present-day witches in Western New York, including examples such as the Witchy Women of the Finger Lakes. Presented by middle school teacher Rick DeKay. Part of the Fenton History Center Lecture Series, this event is free and open to the public. It takes place in the dining room of the Gov. Reuben Fenton mansion and is also streamed via YouTube. Donations are appreciated to support the Fenton History Center’s mission to preserve local history and provide educational opportunities.
