Presented by the Parks and Recreation Division with support from Coastal Credit Union, My Greene Team, Pamela Hughes, Bandits Baseball Club, Dupuis Oil, and The Washington Trust Company, this free ninety minute concert brings Nickel Jukebox back to Pawtucket's Veterans Memorial Amphitheater. The returning favorite delivers Motown, blues, and rock classics with a fresh twist that keeps audiences moving. Parking is available in the City Hall lot. During the show, Parks and Recreation will collect canned and other nonperishable food items to benefit the Blackstone Valley Food Center. Performances may be canceled if inclement weather is expected, with the possibility of a rescheduled date, and updates are shared on the Pawtucket Parks and Recreation and Pawtucket's Veterans Memorial Amphitheater Facebook pages.

Robert Clarke brings an energetic blend of comedy, magic, and juggling to the Slater Park Children’s Performance Series, with interactive moments that engage audiences of all ages. Presented by the Parks and Recreation Division with support from Coastal Credit Union, My Greene Team, Pamela Hughes, Bandits Baseball Club, Dupuis Oil, and The Washington Trust Company. Clarke has performed in Japan, Canada, Singapore, and in more than forty U.S. states, and will appear on the stage located between the Park Office and the Daggett House, across from the tennis courts. The Slater Park Looff Carousel is next to the performance area. Admission is free. If weather is a concern, the show may move to the Slater Park Pavilion. A free, family-friendly art experience from The Empowerment Factory brings stories, hands-on creativity, and simple mindfulness activities to Fairlawn Veterans Memorial Park in Pawtucket. Designed for families with children in grades K-5, each session blends reading, an art project, and calming techniques that encourage emotional regulation, teamwork, and imagination. Conversations and activities highlight themes such as kindness, confidence, respect, and perseverance. Walk-ins are welcome, though advance registration is appreciated. Please register for each date separately, and plan to arrive about 15 minutes early for sign-in and to get settled.

Explore the eerie side of Providence on a nighttime boat outing guided by Providence Ghost Tours, the city’s longest-running ghost tour company. Settle into an open-air vessel and glide through downtown waterways beneath moonlit bridges, past cobblestones, and alongside centuries-old buildings. Along the route, hear vivid stories of local figures ranging from celebrated writers to everyday workers whose restless spirits are said to remain. Expect atmospheric views, spooky storytelling, and a smooth cruise through the heart of the city. Recommended for ages 10 and up. Advance reservations are advised, as this experience often sells out.

Edge of Dreams brings a high-energy mix of classic rock, R&B, and rock covers to the Daggett Farm Thursday Night Concert Series. Since 2016, this Rhode Island band has delivered crowd-pleasing favorites spanning many artists, with a few easy-listening selections that suit audiences of all ages. This free 90-minute show is planned for the outdoor stage in front of Daggett Farm near Len’s Hot Dog and Seafood Haven in Slater Memorial Park. The Parks and Recreation Division will also be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable items to support the Blackstone Valley Food Center. This new music and movement program welcomes babies, toddlers, and preschoolers with their caregivers. It features sing-alongs, kid-friendly dancing, and interactive activities that get everyone moving together. Older siblings may take part too.

Spend 90 minutes on the water exploring Valley Falls Mill Pond and Firestone Cove along the Blackstone River. Take in river views and historic mills, and keep an eye out for wildlife that frequent this waterway, such as egrets, painted turtles, cormorants, osprey, and Sam, the lone mute swan. All rentals depart from Central Falls Landing. A minimum number of kayakers is required for a session to run; if that threshold is not met, participants are notified 48 hours in advance, and if it is met, a reminder is sent. All sessions depend on river conditions. Recommended items to bring include sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, a bathing suit, and water.

Complimentary school supplies are available while quantities last, and children must be present to receive them. The gathering aims to help students start the new school year feeling prepared and supported, whether attendees come for essentials, to build connections, or to enjoy a positive afternoon. The event is open to all.
