Now in its fifth edition at Stable View, this fundraising celebration highlights Aiken’s love of the arts and equestrian life as spring arrives. The program pairs accomplished riders with Maestro Scott Weiss and professional musicians from the Aiken Symphony, presenting a synchronized blend of music and movement. Tickets are available for individuals, couples, or as a full table for eight. Railside seating is $250 and includes premier placement by the rail, VIP parking, table runners, complimentary water and soda, the food service described below, and one bottle of wine for every two tickets purchased. Gallery seating is $150 with tables in the second or third row and includes a complimentary glass of wine, the same food service, and water and soda. All sections offer a thoughtfully arranged view and listening experience. Berry’s Catering, an award-winning team, will present generous heavy hors d’oeuvres on signature grazing tables. A silent auction will feature a curated selection of items and experiences, with details and mobile bidding instructions to be shared closer to the event. Seating is limited. The longest course suits those seeking an endurance test, the 10K delivers a solid challenge, the 5K welcomes runners and walkers of all levels, and the kids race invites young participants to share in the excitement of race day. Registered entrants receive event shirts, finishers earn medals, and post race refreshments help create a welcoming, family friendly atmosphere for individuals, families, and local organizations.

Celebrate a community-focused color walk and run at Town Creek Baptist Church that raises support for a two-week mission trip to Thailand. Registration is $25 for adults and $10 for children, with a maximum of $75 per family. Proceeds benefit the GO FUND, which fully covers the team’s trip expenses through Town Creek Baptist Church so each participant can concentrate on serving. The team will lead English and sports camps at four schools in Chiang Mai, partner with IMB missionaries and Thai Athlete in Action missionaries, and share the message of Jesus with people they meet along the way. The fundraising goal is $5,000, and every registration helps move it forward. Additional ways to support are available, including $25 to assist Thai translators with everyday needs, $50 to sponsor a team dinner with a thank you photo from Thailand, and $100 to contribute toward airfare. The first 50 people to register will be entered into a drawing for a Thai Jasmine gift card. Friends and families are welcome at this community gathering.

This first degree, or Shoden, training introduces the foundations needed to practice personally and to offer care to close family, friends, and pets. The curriculum explores the history of Reiki and its traditional Japanese approach, presents the Five Reiki Principles, teaches meditation methods within the system, and provides practical guidance for self healing. Participants also receive reiju, an attunement that supports their practice. The class emphasizes each person’s individual healing journey, and the teacher-student relationship is treated as a meaningful partnership with support that continues after the course.
Aiken, SCEquine Health and Emergency First Aid (Dragonfly Farm) Private Class Only
Spend a full day building practical equine health and emergency first aid skills with hands-on work alongside horses. Learn how to relay critical information to a veterinarian, help a horse accept care, take accurate vital signs, and respond to situations such as cuts, punctures, colic, choke, collapse, casting, shock, and hoof problems. The class also covers recognizing pain, common sources and ways to relieve it, spinal health, and strategies to prevent injuries, with ample time for guided practice. Participants receive a certificate of completion and a comprehensive first aid manual, and this course serves as the required foundation before the advanced level. Please bring a portable chair, a notebook with a pen or pencil, and a packed lunch so the group can remain on site. Snacks and water are provided. Open to ages 15 and up, enrollment is limited to around 12 people to ensure plenty of hands-on participation. The fee is $169 per person, with payment accepted via Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or PayPal. Explore the world of bluebirds on a guided field outing with the Hitchcock Woods Foundation and the South Carolina Bluebird Society. Participants will move between nest boxes, record observations at each site, and contribute those findings to broader community science efforts focused on nesting behavior and habitat use. Registration is required, and carpooling is encouraged to reduce parking demand. For comfort and safety, consider wearing sturdy walking or hiking shoes and bring sunscreen, a hat, water, and snacks. Binoculars and a camera are also helpful for spotting and documenting activity. Hitchcock Woods, located in Aiken, South Carolina, spans 2,100 acres and features 70 miles of trails through mature pine and bottomland hardwood forests that support a wide range of plants and wildlife. The property is owned and managed by the Hitchcock Woods Foundation, is protected in perpetuity by a conservation easement held by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and is designated as a South Carolina Heritage Preserve Trust site.

Once regarded as nearly unplayable for its technical demands, the concerto was written for Brahms’s friend Joseph Joachim, a leading virtuoso of his time and owner of the Stradivarius on which Hokamura will play. The program also includes Robert Schumann’s Rhenish Symphony, creating a Romantic-era pairing of concerto and symphony.
