Hosted by the Grovetown Garden Club in partnership with Augusta Locally Grown, this farmers market brings neighbors together around fresh food, sustainable gardening, and community vendors. Local growers and artisans gather at Grovetown United Methodist Church. The market helps residents connect directly with area farmers and access fresh, sustainably grown foods, strengthens ties between home gardeners and the regional food system, and offers chances for gardeners, farmers, and neighbors to network. It also promotes choosing local, in-season ingredients.

“Dirty Laundry” Opening Art Reception at Studio 2025

Studio 2025 hosts the opening reception for Dirty Laundry, a free event welcoming the public. Artist Heather René Dunaway, from Augusta, Georgia, shares work that engages Southern identity, generational healing, feminism, and the pressures of social norms. This series extends a project first presented at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art in the exhibition “Fox Yourself A Plate.” Grounded in stories from Dunaway, her mother, and her grandmother, the collection reflects on Southern womanhood and the unrealistic standards society places on women. The artworks are mixed media collages that weave together cyanotype, quilting practices, and found elements. A committed thrifter, Dunaway often relies on secondhand and handed-down supplies, using them to probe the histories within her materials while keeping her process environmentally conscious.
