    Will Hoge

Huguenot Mill at the Peace Center, 101 W Broad St, Greenville · verified Aug 30
    See details

Will Hoge brings a career-spanning intensity to the stage, shaped by Number One hits, Grammy nods, major-label turns, and a fiercely earned independence. A forerunner of Americana’s blend of American roots sounds, he helped push the style forward long before it had its own spotlight, and he continues to fuel it with rock and roll grit. His latest chapter, captured on Sweet Misery, balances fresh ideas with a clear salute to his rock roots, the kind of approach that comes with years of hard work rather than quick shortcuts. The music leans into catchy hooks, big choruses, and road-ready momentum, built with a crew of collaborators to amplify the songs. This performance reflects an artist who prefers the long road, inviting listeners to sink into an album-minded journey that rewards being turned up from start to finish.

    Retro-HorrorCon Cosplay Contest

Embassy Suites by Hilton Greenville Golf Resort & Conference Center, Greenville · verified Aug 30
    See details

Presented in partnership with White Knight Entertainment Co., this cosplay competition at Embassy Suites by Hilton Greenville Golf Resort & Conference Center invites show attendees to step into character and compete for prizes across clearly defined divisions. Participants will be grouped as Kids 12 and under, Teens 13 to 17, Adult Novice 18 and older with less than half of the costume made by the wearer, and Adult Advanced 18 and older with more than half self-made. Scoring focuses on three elements: how faithfully the look matches the character, the quality of construction, and the performer’s stage presence. Contestants will complete a short form with their name and character, line up with their category, walk the stage, and have a brief moment to bring their character to life. Judges may ask quick questions about the build and take a reference photo. Anyone not in place when the contest begins will be removed from the lineup. After scores are tallied, winners in each category will be announced and prizes awarded. Costume and prop guidelines apply. Lack of attire does not count as a costume and all outfits must provide at least bathing suit coverage. Makeup must be well sealed and not transferable; staff may check for smearing and can require removal if it fails this standard. Realistic uniforms must be clearly identifiable as costumes, and anything that could be mistaken for current military or law enforcement is not permitted. All weapons and props must be inspected, approved, and tagged before being carried in public areas. Dart guns, BB guns, crossbows, and real firearms are prohibited. Staff and judges may deem any item or costume unsafe or inappropriate and can deny it or disqualify it from the contest.

The package includes hotel accommodations, a dedicated six foot crafting table, WiFi, door prize drawings throughout the weekend, onsite shopping, and a goodie bag. An ice and water station is set in the crop room, a Keurig is available for those bringing their own K cups, and snacks are provided, while breakfast is served each morning in the hotel lobby. The host hotel features an indoor pool and a fitness center. Single occupancy is 595 dollars. Double occupancy is 375 dollars and includes a room with two queen beds, a microwave, and a refrigerator, with the rate based on a minimum of two people sharing. Adding more people to the room does not reduce the rate. A local crop only option at 185 dollars is not available. Participants have access to the crop room from Thursday through Sunday. Each person gets a personal table, with power available from wall and floor outlets, and bringing extension cords and power strips is recommended. Personal office chairs are welcome if they are not oversized. Restrooms are located within the crop area, loading and unloading are convenient at the crop room door, and entryway cameras provide added security. The last person to leave closes the room for the night. The theme color palette is orange, bright green, and purple, and decorating your workspace can earn extra entries toward a grand prize. Group photos take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Suggested attire days include a Halloween shirt on Thursday, a Boo Crew look on Friday with an oversized white tee featuring a face design paired with black leggings and glittery accents, and an all black outfit with spiderweb accessories on Saturday. Friday features a Halloween pajama party, and Saturday includes a Halloween costume contest. Sunday highlights a Palmetto Scrappers shirt. Extra grand prize tickets can also be earned by referring someone who has never attended before and by participating in the theme activities. Meals are not included, and attendees are welcome to bring snacks to share. Vendors will offer classes for an additional fee. The hotel sits near numerous restaurants and craft stores such as Target, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels, and travel plans should account for periods of heavy traffic.
