Get hands-on with the pottery wheel in a beginner-friendly session taught by an instructor. Lessons are scheduled by appointment and kept small for one or two learners. You will watch a demonstration of throwing a bowl on the wheel, then create a piece of your own. No prior experience is required. Open to ages 12 and older. The cost is $55 and includes one finished piece per participant. After the first firing, you will receive a call to return and paint your work. It will be fired a second time, then ready for pickup about a week later. Advance online registration is required, and walk-ins are not accepted. The instructor will be available on the class day only if there are confirmed signups.

Better Business Bureau of the Upstate and AARP South Carolina are partnering to present a free Secure Your ID Shred Day, a national effort focused on identity theft and fraud prevention. Individuals and businesses can take advantage of complimentary on-site shredding for outdated documents and will receive educational handouts with practical tips for protecting information online and offline. With support from local partner PremierePC, free hard drive wipes that meet Department of Defense standards will also be available. Each consumer or business may bring up to three containers, either banker boxes measuring 10 by 12 by 15 inches or 13-gallon kitchen bags. Cardboard boxes will be emptied and returned. Do not bring desktop computers, monitors, laptops, printers, or external hard drives. To keep lines moving there is no need to remove binders, binder clips, paper clips, staples, rubber bands, or CDs and DVDs before shredding. For safety and efficiency, attendees on foot cannot be accommodated, and consumers must remain in their vehicles rather than watch materials being shredded. The free shredding service is first come, first serve and will continue only while the shred trucks have capacity.

Create your own clay piece by hand at Hearts Of Clay, with two pricing options based on how you would like it finished. For $35 per pound, you can use studio tools, add paint, and have your work fired twice. After you build your piece, it will dry and receive an initial firing over about three to four weeks to ensure it is fully dry and safe. The studio will then call you to return and paint. Once painted, it will be fired a second time and ready for pickup in about a week, and there is no call after the second firing. For $30 per pound, you can use studio tools, paint the same day, and have a single firing after an approximately three to four week drying period. You will receive a call when it is ready to be picked up.

At Hearts Of Clay, the All Booked Up camp session celebrates reading through hands-on, book-themed art. Over the week, campers work with clay, canvas, pottery painting, glass fusing and other techniques, completing five to six projects. Highlights include a fused glass bowl with a book motif, a tote for carrying favorite reads, a clay pencil holder inspired by books and more. Each participant receives a Hearts of Clay camp T-shirt, and snacks and drinks are provided each day. The program is designed for ages 6 to 16, with a minimum of three and a maximum of ten campers per session. The cost is 165 dollars per camper for the week. A 25 dollar nonrefundable deposit is required, with the remaining 140 dollars due on the first day.

Originally from Celina, Tennessee and now based in Los Angeles, he has developed and sold scripted pilots for Warner Bros Television, ABC, and FOX. He produces sketches for Comedy Central, Funny or Die, ATTN, Facebook Watch, and the New York Daily News that have drawn tens of millions of views. Crowder also co-wrote and produced the documentary Inherent Good, featuring him and Andrew Yang in a look at universal basic income, and he co-hosts the WellRED, Evening Skews, and Puttin’ On Airs podcasts. His debut 30-minute stand-up special was filmed in Nashville in 2021, and he continues to share new rants with a large online audience.

Animal-loving kids can dive into a creative camp designed for ages 4 to 8. Participants start by stuffing a plush cat or dog to make a new companion, then enjoy pet-themed projects throughout the week. They will design a custom shirt for their pet, craft a collar and accessories like a blanket and treats, build and decorate a cozy dog or cat house, and illustrate a storybook about their adventures to take home. Each day includes guided art activities, imaginative play, and a snack. All supplies are included.
