Roosevelt Park Ice ArenaMissouri River Pipeline & Water Conservation Panel Discussion
A community conversation on the Missouri River pipeline and water conservation takes place at Hay Camp Brewing Company. The panel invites public questions and focuses on the pressing challenges surrounding water supply in western South Dakota. A relaxed social with snacks and music sets the tone, followed by the discussion with confirmed speakers Jim Jones, a senior project manager with AE2S, Molly McDowell, a landscape designer and irrigation specialist with Water Whys Irrigation & Landscape Design, Garth Wadsworth, senior public policy director at Elevate Rapid City, Rich Burgess, an assistant professor of industrial engineering at South Dakota Mines, and Eric Boyda, superintendent with the City of Rapid City Water Division. Water sampling test kits will be available to take home for a $5 fee, and they can be brought to the Earth Day Expo at Western Dakota Tech for testing.

The 14th annual chili feed and silent auction at VFW Post 5969 supports the Lead-Deadwood Community Foundation. Organized by Deadwood VFW 5969, this community gathering honors founder Jerry Apa and helps fund local initiatives that align with the foundation’s mission. Admission is $10 per person and includes as many chili tastings as you like. The event includes a silent auction and is made possible with support from local businesses and organizations. Attendees can enjoy hearty chili, take part in the auction, and contribute to efforts that benefit the Lead-Deadwood area.
